Good day everyone, please seeing how difficult getting a direct flight to ottawa is, what are the ways one can get there after landing in Toronto? Also must one stay in Airbndb for the 14 days quarantine? Can't it be in a shared apartment with one person?.
Also regarding the test for covid before flying how is it done please, how can one get it and is it really a must? I'm very scared of it!
Your response would be highly appreciated.
Air France and Lufthansa will get you to Ottawa.

You can also fly to Montreal and travel down to Ottawa.

Montreal to Ottawa == 2hrs
Toronto to Ottawa == 5hrs

Brother I'm not crossing anywhere oh... I'm not mad like that. Actually I have a name withheld who works directly with high commission and NGO affiliated with Canada Immigration. The NGO is the only organisation in power to certify an individual to be granted asylum in Canada and grants the visa and resident permit etc. They serve as a referee to the person(s). Fortunately one of the people in charge has a close relationship with me.

So hence my question, if anyone has gone through the asylum route, what's life like there after landing and several months after. And what the construction industry is like for a graduate professional immigrant?

You are about to get scammed.

Hello all, with a good number of folks working from home due to COVID-19, you can claim back some of your home office expenses from the CRA. Review the info at the link below, and also talk to your accountant/tax advisor. All the best.

https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/news/2020/12/introducing-a-simplified-process-for-claiming-the-home-office-expenses-for-canadians-working-from-home-due-to-the-covid-19-pandemic.html?utm_source=mediaroom&utm_medium=eml
for someone who has been working from home for more than half of the year, would you know how much returns they could get? I need to start paying really close attention to the taxes. All this while, I'd use a filing agency which I feel like it kinda limit you knowing the ins and out of the whole thing.

Avoid Lufthansa and all that. ET is your best choice at this time of Covid. Find out if they fly to Ottawa or Quebec, or fly to Toronto and take a train ride to Ottawa at the Union Station, it's part of the fun.

Hi, any particular reason why one should avoid Lufthansa? My mum will be coming to Canada with Lufthansa soon. Is there anything we should know before she leaves? Thanks

Lufthansa turned a family down this morning, 18th Dec, 2020, and they had to book ET.

That's all I know.

Could provide us with the reasons why they were turned down because the ET route I took to Toronto was vey long though their Airbus is good with plenty of food to eat

Hi
Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by Bravelady: 9:05am On Dec 19, 2020
I'm I'm moving to Canada in few months time (3-5month) and I'm very confused on what to do
I'm completely broke right now, so when I get there I want to start something right away to make money to feed and do so many things. I plan to start studying after my 6months time

I'm thinking of learning photography in Nigeria, I would like to know how lucrative that is in Canada(Ontario/Toronto) if I should learn the skill.

I already have my sewing skills, and I'm thinking of starting that immediately I get there. I plan to buy Ankara, like 20pieces and when I get there start making children dresses and selling, but the problem here is I don't have any friends there and I don't know how i will start that immediately i get there
Then I'm thinking I should look for a job there, but I'm not sure I would get job immediately because they usually ask of Canadian experience which I do not possess and I plan to do that when I get there as well
Modified: I have PR already

Hmm. You’re completely broke but you’re moving to Canada. If I may ask, under which program are you doing this? Express entry or student visa?
If EE you should have your POF at least naw. Are there no conditions for people to come in on student visa and then postpone their studies since you say you’ll start studying in 6 months.

Well, if you’re permitted to work, I’m sure you can find a “hold body” job while you search for a better one. Also you can get jobs without Canadian experience as long as you have demonstrable skills.

Normally, before you're able to claim WFH expense, there were some conditions to be met. What this temporary provisions is saying is that without meeting those preset conditions (like a signed T2200), you can claim WFH expenses up to a maximum of 400 dollars.

However, if you feel your WFH expenses are more than 400 dollars, you'll need to go through the normal route. So, nobody can really answer the questions you asked without looking at your specific situation
