Tinubu has made Lagos drop her spot.
Lagos is always top on internal revenue generation but for Tinubu company.

Well the state presently is worse and I'm currently there and I'm from here too but I will tell you boldly that all isn't well.
Unemployment and hardship has forced many of our brothers to relocate to nearby Rivers State to hustle.
Akwa ibom worse my brother, e worse, Udom needs to be bundled out.

Before commenting... I read all the comments...
The only thing I can see is hopelessness..

The OP and some few people misunderstood the information and some were not even ready to learn.

The Mod was not reasonable enough to understand and then effect a change on the topic or even disregard it in entirety.

The most painful thing is how the thread was turned into a playground for vile display of tribalism and bigotry.

Sigh... I give up on you guys.

Anambra should be first based on the kind of criminal elements going on in the state, as a means of getting revenue for the state.
What is remaining in Anambra is the day they will start taxing people walking on the road as the means of revenue for the state.

IGR is revenue gotten from taxing a people.

These states are states that tax their citizens the most.

This is not a measure of growth.

GDP on the other hand is money gotten from goods/services sold..it’s a better measure of development owing to the fact more businesses/more money.

If this is true, then I think something is wrong with Ogun state? Abi it doesn't include tax from corporate organization!

Usually when ret@rds are countered with facts they resort to calling it fake.
Developed and progressive countries thrive majorly from taxes, it's a major cash flow for those kinds of society, GDP is ok, but how much is states earnings percent from it's GDP; to give you a better idea nigeria's GDP to earnings ratio is around 4-5%, your state is probably around 2-3%, the SW remains the best performing region by all indices despite not having crude oil wealth, it's why economic migrants from the South East and South south keep trooping into the region in droves... what can we exactly say we know akwa ibom apart from sex tourism and good cooks, most of you guys are actually plan stupid; reason why most people don't really take you seriously.

All of these is useless information. The basta.rd politicians use all the money for themselves alone and flaunt the wealth to taunt the masses and what do the masses do? Hold useless protest that cripples the survival of their fellow poor masses and make noise online. The same people who protest and make noise online will go behind to hail the useless politicians.

Nigerian masses know the evil politicians responsible for the hardship they face everyday. Stop holding useless protest and focus on your politicians. They are not spirits and cannot move with security all the days of their evil lives. They go to church, mosques, gatherings and even travel abroad. Catch them and give them the beating of their lives. Beat them to coma so that they know you have the power and you put them where they are. Stop worshiping cursed , bas.tard, evil politicians. Deal with them individually till they begin to do what is right.

Seems there are lot of educated illiterates in Nigeria anyway and this thread is a pointer to that fact.

The report clearly said Year on Year most improved and an intelligent person should know they are comparing the growth of those states relative to the past year growth.

Except maybe I am reading this wrong or Legit the author of the news are high on weed for using this heading for this nonsense.

lists the top 10 states with the "year-on-year most improved" internally generated revenues from the report:

Thank you sir. We've still got critically minded persons on this forum. It's quite a shame many didn't understand what Year-on-year IGR improvement means

Op, your list is wrong, this is the main lists;
We prepared for you the list of the top 21 richest states in Nigeria that play an important role in the country’s economy and development. Nigeria is a sub-Saharan African country blessed with natural resources. It is an independent country that has 36 flourishing states, and Crude oil has long been Nigeria’s primary source of foreign exchange and governmental revenues. Nigeria remains the largest oil producer of Africa and the 12th biggest oil producer of the world.

This article is about the top twenty-one most prosperous states in the area of Nigeria. Also, it should be noted that these regions are independent and can survive on their own without the help of the federal government, as the source of their wealth is from sectors like tourism, sports, agriculture, etc. As a result, one cannot expect these states to be poor or having insufficient wealth like many third-world counties. Let’s start from the top with the Lagos region according to GDP and wealth.

Table of Contents

1. Lagos State ($33.68 Billion)
2. Rivers State ($21.17 Billion)
3. Delta state ($ 16.75 billion)
4. Oyo state ($16.12 billion)
5. Imo State ($14.21 billion)
6. Kano state ($12.39 billion)
7. Edo state ($11.89 billion)
8. Akwa Ibom region ($11 billion)
9. Ogun state ($11 billion)
10. Kaduna state ($10.33 billion)
11. Cross River state ($9.29 billion)
12 Abia state ($8.68 billion)
13. Ondo region ($8.41 billion)
14. Osun state ($7.28 billion)
15. Benue region ($6.86 Billion)
16. Anambra State ($6.76 Billion)
17. Katsina State ($5.99 billion)
18. Niger State ($6 Billion)
19. Borno State ($5.18 Billion)
20. Plateau State ($5.15 Billion)
Bonus: Sokoto State ($4.82 Billion)
That's 2007 to 2010 GDP
