The higher the band score, the better. There's no harm in hitting 9.0. To be on the safe side, minimum of 7.0. It's not like they speak better English than Anglophone Africans (can't blame anyway. It's not their official language) but for scholarship purposes and if you are applying to a top university/competitive program, a higher band score won't be bad.

After you get in, there are many scholarships you can apply to. This is because you are a student unlike when you were a prospective student. There exist limited number (not more than five last I researched) for a Nigerian to apply while in Nigeria as a prospective student. The issue here is having to present living expenses bank statement to the immigration authorities prior to being issued the CESR (pre-visa). This process is independent of your admission and payment of tuition. If you already have an MSc, then it is best you apply to a PhD program - better chances for the professor to apply for scholarships (which will cater for your living expenses) on your behalf prior to coming so that the immigration authorities will have an evidence there is a source of finance to cater for yourself. Remember, these living expenses are the periods for your program. MSc is for two years while PhD is for three years. Also, I don't know how old you are but I don't see the point targeting another MSc. Why not a PhD? Then again, this depends entirely on you and your professor of interest.

Some scammers arrested in Japan few days ago.
They are not Japanese. But Asian.
This is not first time.
I saw same crime on TV news before.

Their target was Vietnamese.
They are group. They made fake Japanese language school website.
Some of them are in Vietnam and some are in Japan.

Nobody knows who is next target.
I even saw someone offering fake papers on this website.
If you got fake papers and use it in Japan, that is crime.

Please be careful.

Hi . tuf said I should apply through them for the next scholarship. 12 people will be admitted while only four people will be awarded mext. Please I want to know their acceptance rate because application fee is 10k yen and sending of documents involved

If it's the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Wikipedia says the acceptance rate is 26.3%. You just need to have faith or hope you get selected (how are your grades like?). However, if you get admitted but not selected for the scholarship, you could apply for scholarships (which I believe a school like TUF should offer)

Tbh, the application fee is lower than other national universities - 30K¥. I hope you're not worried about the fee because should you get admitted but not selected for the scholarship, you will be required to fund your studies as a private student?

Also, I recommend DHL for mailing of documents (23K when I used it) as it took five days (inclusive of working days) to send them and this was in the height of the Coronavirus pandemic. I don't know about your proposed means of paying the application fee because when I paid mine, I had to use my uncle's card who resided in Europe as the system did not accept a Nigerian card. If you don't have a debit/credit card linked to a foreign account or someone in the abroad, you could use Barter by Flutterwave, only that they (Flutterwave) appeared incompetent when I had issues with it. I just did not understand how it was used notwithstanding the guidance. So, get prepared for such a scenario.

You don't necessarily need someone in Europe to apply for you, anyone who is in a country that accepts PayPal should be able to pay. Not maybe courier is the best, a courier service that is privately run - UPS, DHL and FedEx - is the best. Don't use NIPOST EMS You will regret it.

Yes, you can apply for other scholarships as generally scholarships aren't a guaranteed stamp or something. It is tumbo-tumbo, you can get it or not. However, the more scholarships you apply to, the better your chances of getting at least one. If you check the link I posted, it shows various scholarship programs prospective students to TUF can apply to, no law stops you from applying to them which you are qualified. However, if you get selected for the MEXT by TUF and win another or some other private scholarships, you will be required to decline those scholarships in favour of the MEXT.

NOTE: If you get selected for MEXT not before. So, apply, apply and apply.
