The fact is most of the people questioning the rescue of these boys are politically motivated.

They don't have the interest of the boys at heart, they just want an opportunity to blame the government in power.

Among the kids interviewed, one stated that they ate leaves to sustain themselves and some of their abductors were as young as they themselves but armed.

A rescue operation would have been catastrophic, it will be difficult for the troops to differentiate kids belonging to the party of the abductors and the abducted kids. Many of the school kids will die. The government did the next best thing after preventing the abduction in the first instance.
You people will still complain had it been that they attempted a rescue and one of those kids had died.
So drink water and rest.

"The two helicopters were handed over to the NAF on 27 January 2017 after they were seized on 7 November 2016 when the importer could not produce end user certificates. They were originally destined for Rivers State to protect oil and gas facilities and were equipped with night vision equipment, armour plating and cameras. They were supposed to bypass import duties. The new helicopter will be deployed to the Northeast as part of the efforts to strengthen the counterterrorism campaign against Boko Haram."

They were manufactured with armour plating.

I think the Air Force requires 4 more units of Bell 412. The aircraft seems to be a proper work horse.

they have armour plating, but that's just protective glass for the pilot, fuel tank sheilding and reinforced swashplate. all these will succumb to machine and assault calibre. even the apache avoids infantry fire by all means possible. helicopters require more power per mass than planes. no aircraft is bullet proof they just leverage on altitude, speed and manverablity.

There is an assumption that he who makes the loudest noise wins the argument.

Look at the leader of IPOB and his narcissistic tendencies. Then look at the majority of his misguided and I'll informed illiterate members.

If IPOB should become a political party then campaign and hopefully win every state government, national and state legislature election. And through very peaceful means actualize thier dream, it will.be very easy.

I can assure you IPOB will struggle to win a single seat outside of Umuhai.

I wander why Nnamdi kanu can create his own party. The main aim and objective of the party should be the south east becoming an independent country.

I won't lie, Nnamdi kanu have a lot of followers on the south east.

No helicopter is completely safe, no matter how well protected, that was why the initial criticism of the heli was unwarranted. These are the same helicopters that have been used by the NAF in the NE for operations since inception, and again, they did their job. If it wasn't suitable for the role, it won't be used.

An American Chinook was shot down by RPG with SF on board some years back in Afghanistan during an attempted rescue and killed all on board.

What purpose does this question serve? Isn't it true that the security situation of the country is at an all-time worst? People are getting kidnapped and killed every single minute by Fulani bandits.

Leave these ones... They are just joining the fray. They do not understand that it was the rot and lack of direction in those days that ensured Jonathan didn't return.

Today there are more positive differences. We may not be where we are supposed to be (in fact we are quite far off) but one sure thing is that we have made loads of progress and if we only would continue and up the momentum, we can claim some measure of progress.
