back from another unecessary ban, see what i posted. this forum is annoying

I noticed that if you put a lot of numbers in your post, you will likely get banned by the stupìd antispam bot.

172v @ 42Hz is just a recipe for low batteries as only a very handful of inverter can charge batteries at such frequency and voltage.

It's frustrating to see a good writeup just disappear for nothing short of just having too many numbers in it.

That's the thing, it's very discouraging! Am not sure the kind of algorithm that the bot uses, it's too aggressive I must say.

Looks like Deye hybrid inverter users will be getting a new member soon and my 24v GK MPP may be up for grabs to the highest bidder as well.

That said, any Deye user here that harvest data from the inverter for emoncms or mqtt should kindly quote me o, I need to prep and get training from Una. wink

The bot is not intelligent enough to discern normal post from spam.

Why are you moving over to Deye from MPP? Any specific reason?

For all forum members getting banned, the simple fix I apply is to mail the supermods and typically get unbanned and post restored within an hour.

If you navigate to the NairaLand main hompage, you will the the 'Mail SuperMods' button right at the bottom.

In my experience writing long posts gets you banned.

The bug has bitten deep.

For monitoring, if the inverter supports MQTT out of the box then you can easily use the Paho MQTT available in Python to bang up a script to subscribe the MQTT topics the inverter is publishing and post them to EmonCMS.

It is a relatively trivial thing to do for any half decent programmer esp. if you use the simple forms of subscribe and publish and don't use callbacks.

On the primary reason, I want to do 48v(and higher load capacity) as household demand has increased.

On a secondary reason, I considered going the latest 48v 8kw MPP as an option but the fact that they still left the float bug in there made it unattractive (though I already have a workaround to the float bug and that works fine, I prefer something out of box).

Brotherman, no vex am just seeing this but they're not on the same level at all, the charging parameters might be same but the fullriver dwarfs the Ritar, especially the Ritar sold at alaba, I know because am using both batteries and their charge and discharge cycle is not the same at all.

NXT Index I have not used, so I cannot say. Cheers

It's why I ask for experience of current users, mqtt is an option am considering, there seem to be another option to pull data via their app api...will see how it goes.

Boss na the bug of never ending system upgrades and tweaking I dey talk o.

You had not even told us your upgrade reasons (avoid MPP float bug and increased household loads) when I posted.

But I would still upgrade the MPP firmware to fix the premature float issue than opt for an external control solution as you did.

Oga Chris of AWPS is using the native monitoring feature bundled with the inverter I believe. Still I like to roll my own.

If I may dangle a carrot, with MQTT and Modbus TCP it is usually possible to send control commands to the inverter.

I have 8 units of Genus 12v 200Ah batteries for sale. They are leftover after client upgraded to Lithium. I estimate ~75% capacity left in the batteries.

Pricing - 40k each

Also 6 Quanta batteries - brown carton - Average condition. Pricing 30k each

This is correct.
Whenever the antispam bot strikes, I mail the mods and get unbanned within an hour or two depending on the availability of the mods at the time of mailing. The post is also restored when the ban is lifted.

Yeah assuming the firmware upgrade is available but it's not available for GK the mk has it though. As to never ending system upgrades(well you referred to float in your previous post), I started small hence am enlarging my system gradually, am not sure you bought all your current system in one day but if you did our account balance status vary o. grin
I have reached my destination on storage and this is now an attempt to reach a destination on inverter.

Yeah saw some of his nicely done videos, the 8kw video he did off one of his clients site was one of the sources I used to decide on my choice of inverter.

All the 8 Genus were on solar.

The 6 Quanta were not. They saw little use but left uncharged for a while - the owner fled the country at the beginning of COVID pandemic cheesy grin grin
