Yes, PVOD. I got a free rental code for Rakunten TV, so used the code to rent the film. I see why this film did well. I didn't expect the film to hit my with the feels like that, but it did, especially with its 3 endings. How the first ending calls back to a discussion, the second calls back to a moment and the third calls back to music - the journey that face makes eh during that third ending, na wa... Chei!

I can see folks saying this film is boring & manufactured since it's a film with a main cast of 4 women mostly talking, but it's just a story of women living their lives & working in that time period. It's certainly well directed, well produced, cinematography is on point! Apparently, it was filmed in 8K, so that explains the gorgeous colour.

I see why one of the YouTubers I follow had this and Parasite as his best 2 films of 2019. Rating: 9/10.

Even I understood the Matrix partially. The movie came out 1999 when I was still a boy.

But after seeing the animatrix in 2007 and then watching the movies again, I understood the philosophy very well.

Ngl Chief, had the same issue when i saw the first installment, couldn't make sense of it, i basically just enjoyed the action sequence, it was when i saw Reloaded and Revolution, i now finally understood the war between the humans and the machines, miss this and the person seeing it is essentially lost.

Btw, do you think this forthcoming fourth installment is needed, or it's just another money grabbing scheme?

Thanks for the review. It has been on my "to watch list" since last year but as with most movies produced outside of the US, the distribution and streaming right can become a headache tho it had a very limited cinema run earlier this year, I haven't been able to find it anywhere since. Have you seen "Ammonite"? am hearing it has the same vibe as this.

Slight spoilers

First off I'd like to point that it is a time traveling movie incase you didn't know that , so right of the bat you should know you are bound to be confused , I'm sure even top scientists would find it difficult to properly explain time travel, as proof there are so many theories of how it works.

Now to the movie;

Thoroughly entertaining, enjoyed the plot , which for me wasn't difficult to understand, what was challenging was the inversion and even that wasnt too hard to follow, I wouldn't say it was easy tho , because some earlier scenes had me baffled because I couldn't make sense of it like the fight at the Freeport , but then as the movie progressed I started to understand the way the inversion worked. Was a really fun watch and a nice payoff, albeit a bit predictable.

Still have questions tho, like why did he shoot at him self at the Freeport ?
