You were charging and listening to music at the same time?

Yes for some few minutes.....for most of the time during that period while I was online I didn't.

Boomplay app is just active there cause the music is paused and app still running at background. I don't think music consumes battery that much to slow down fast charging to snail speeds.

If you read below this post you will see where the person came back and said he didn't plug in his USB Cord properly into the brick.

2. From your Screenshot it shows it is not charging fast because I can't see the fast charge icon.

Inferences
1. You aren't using the charging brick or a brick rated to charge fast.

2. You are using you phone while charging

3. You didn't plug-in your USB Cord properly.

It is a process and it makes your battery active while charging so once your temperature goes high charging speed must drop.

Ehen, I always suspected it not fast charging cos I couldn't see the fast charge icon with double lightening symbols, I just assumed maybe probably this phone works differently from Transsion I'm used to. This is due to some screenshots in here where I see users with RN9S & RN 9 without the said icon. So I assumed it's same for all.

I'm using the 22.5W Charging brick that came with the phone and I've never for once seen that fast charge icon. I thought it was an update thing until I updated to MIUI 12 this weekend.

Yes, I'm using my phone while charging, but I reckon it shouldn't be that slow that's it same speed as my lost phone without fast charging whatsoever.
Asides that, to be super sure I charged the phone from 5:01am this morning before going to sleep @50>% then woke up at 6:47am this morn and phone was still 70>%. That's almost 2hrs that I wasn't using the phone, yet it wasn't full even at half capacity (50>%) before charge.

3. Me not plugging my USB properly is what I'm suspecting but I'm not so sure. The USB cord doesn't seem to enter the brick fully, it's like inside it halfway. I've tried to press it in but it's just that way...I no wan push am too much make I break or damage the equipment.
When I get home I'll take snapshots and show you how it's inserted.

But this pic below might help you understand what I'm saying. That gap I made in between that brick and the cable is similar to how my charger is coupled. cry

I understand..... What I'm saying is it shouldn't be slow that it is charging almost at same speed as my previous Spark 3(I also used it while charging) which doesn't possess 18W charge.

It is wrong. Push in the cable properly if you are truly using your follow come brick and USB Cable. Even my third party original USB Cables enters my Charging brick properly

As a point of emphasis. Attached is a 22.5W Charging brick and USB Cable.

You don't use another charging brick as a guide and if your infinix spark 3 usb doesn't enter it's brick that is no business of Xiaomi

Also, if that's the cable you use to charge your device, please change it. That might just be another reason.

I understand you but you aren't getting me....

I am just comparing their charging speeds based on each individual chargers. I don't use one charger for another phone.

Where you got confused is I meant I also used the Tecno Spark 3 while charging it with its own charger (not RN9s), though the phone is stolen now sha.... I'm merely comparing my RN9S charging speed with an inferior phone I used earlier. So I expected it to be faster than my previous phone whether I'm using it or not when charging.

No wahala sha I get you.....I know where the problem dey now, na to rectify am remain.

No more sweet talks. Just a little over one year since I got this Redmi Note 7, I hate is so much. I thought this would be a phone to enjoy for years. Never gonna buy all these Chinese phones again, no matter the name. Nonsense.

Beyond all advice given, Quick charge won't work if you start charging at a battery temperature higher than 38°c. Best way to Quick Charge all the time is to turn off your device, or lock it and leave it idle.
