ESN was solely formed to fight rampaging Fulani herdsmen, yet I never see any Fulani in nairaland attacking ESN all I see are Yorubas. Yoruba why? You formed your Amotekun or whatever for the same purpose- checkmating the activities of herdsmen, why has ESN become a sin? You're talking of legal backing, by who? Is it by those chickens called eastern governors? Since those chickens are afraid to form a security outfit Ipob doesn't need legal backing before they can protect their people before they are killed. You want the east to be vulnerable so that Fulani herdsmen with fear of Amotekun will head to east, but you are wrong ESN has come to stay, it is called balance of terror.

Thank you bro.. Well said. Yoruba people are one of the problems of Nigeria. Though they are getting there fair share of the oil money and positions. Fact is evil is relative... If you don't condemn it, it will surely visit you one day as a friend.

One can take side, when Fulanis opposed Amotekun, Igbos were in solidarity with Yorubas. Now they are calling ESN illegal meanwhile we have Shege Ka Fasa, Yan Banga, Civilian JTF, Hisbah, Sara Suka etc some not recognised by either FG or state Govt but used for law enforcement by the Emirs, I have not seen Yorubas call out the Emirs for having Yan Banga who can effect arrest for the Emirs Court
Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was right about about therm. " Yoruba are the problem of Nigeria ".

Do your legal framework before you established such , for security reasons.
How will you feel if boko haram changed name to Northern security network, will you feel safe?

Oh wonderful... Wished they will change name and stop the killing, bandit and kidnappings. We just want everyone to be secured as far as they will secure the North better than the soldiers.

When a country starts creating regional security arms, you are basically promoting and cementing tribalism. Look at other successful countries and you will see that the idea of regional police is alien to them. Nigeria is already fractured and encouraging what is happening now is dangerous.

Unpatriotic statement from Charly boy. Who are the brain behind Amotekun? Why Gani Adams or Sunday Igboho didn't form Amotekun. South east needs Security unit like Amotekun but it must come from governors not Nnamdi Kaun a terrorist.
your hatred for Nnamdi Kanu will be your greatest undoing.....

that being said, it might interest you to know that we igbos don't suffer fools gladly..

we can't wait for people who have turned themselves into puppets in the hand of the Fulani orligarchy.

ESN has come to stay, if you don't like it, go and pick up a live wire.

if you terrorist encroach on our lands again, ESN officers will deal with such person.

How can you call NK a terrorist ? A freedom fighter . Is it because you are born Nigeria where any thing goes? . Islamic govt woke up one day and tagged I{POB that has not killed any body a terrorist and you believed because of your for Igbos and their Biafra seeking tendency championed by NK . You are the terrorist

WE love Nk and NK loves his people period

You better speak for yourself. Idiots everywhere. Whatever Fulani do is good, whatever Yoruba do is good, but whatever Igbo do will be condemned even by the same igbos that Fulani impregnated their mothers during the war. Legal backing my foot. Who are they getting the legal backing to protect if all are dead?
A ' fugitive' in far away trying to protect his people while idiots walking freely do nothing. ESN has come to stay. You idiots with Fulani bloods want to bring your kismen from Futa jalon to Igboland to become Igbo/fulani, but you are wrong.

Very important but a man like kanu should not be in charge or the founder. It won't even later or be taken seriously. Nnamdi kanu that can't even enter the country. I wonder how you guys think. Let your state government come together and create a security network for you people. This shows your state government don't even you guy's seriously one bit. It's a pity the kind of country we are
Does Nigeria obey the law ? Nigeria is a lawless country . ESN is the brain child of NDIGBO and not only IPOB . Security formed by the people . Our governor chose to serve their Fulani masters to the detriment of the lives of their citizens

The Eastern Governors have failed in their responsibilities. That's the reason a secessionist like NK is doing what the Governors ought to do. Every wise people must set up their Security to protect themselves.

This is applicable to all the tribes in Nigeria, not just regions now.

The enemies are too much for regional Security.

You and I knows that IPOB can't even freely operate a church in Nigeria as a proscribed group talkless of a vigilante group.
If they are not illegal why are they not in the streets with operational base like Amotekun?
No difference between bss and esn.
Listen, Nnamdi Kanu might be a terrorist to an equally terrorist government but he has the good will of HIS PEOPLE. The hatred in Nigeria has reached the point that no one likes to hear a good news about a region which is not his. ESN doesn't operate on the streets because it's not their modus operandi, they were set up to protect our boundaries against invasion. It's a necessary evil that Nnamdi Kanu had to do since our governors are too chicken hearted to do.
ILLEGAL ✔️
NECESSARY ✔️.
IF YOU WERE A SANE BEING AND KNOW WHAT'S BEEN ON AND ABOUT IN NIGERIA YOU'D SHUN HATRED AND CALL FOR THE EASTERN GOVERNORS TO BACK IT UP OR FOREVER SHUT THE FRONT DOOR.

You'll think the Yoruba's hate you until the fulani send in their python army for your youths....you flatin0s are playing into one big agenda for your young ones to be killed without reason, you put all attention on SW and it's leaders like your life depends on it meanwhile your chicken governors are the real slaves who cannot secure their own region thus the unstable albino double agent is left to be your leader. The Yorubas aren't your enemies..yet. your main enemy is those within.
If you are not our enemies why are you always against anything we do? Then tell your brothers and sisters to stop disturbing us with LEGAL backing. Since the people that should do the legal backing want to trade the lives of their people with positions in Abuja someone has to do something before it is too late. Everyone knows how insecurity has deteriorated in this country, but trying so hard to pin down those who rose to protect their people. The rampaging boko haram turned herdsmen how many legal backing do they have to carry AK47s? If AK 47is good for herdsmen to kill our people, AK47 is also good for ESN to protect our people.

I think something is very wrong with us the Igbos, are their no things we can do by the books? How can a boy called Nnamdi Kalu dictate what happens in Igbo lands and my brothers Charly Boy and others are buying it, hook line and sinker. Is a big shame.

Sometimes I wonder what brains we have as Igbos. Nothing is achieved with a wrong mindset....we should channel our energy towards good thinking and not this myopic thinking. Am a core Igbo man....but it saddens my heart that a miscreants called Nnamdi Kalu will brain wash our people to the point most of us now think violence is the only way out....

The west got theirs by the book via their governors, are there no governors in the East?
Stop insulting sane Igbos. You know the people you should channel your insults to- the chicken governors. Every right thinking Igboman knows that what Kanu did was good. If you don't like Kanu and his ESN then tell those chickens you called leaders to set up a security outfit that is what the people want.

Adresss issues and not personalities. How is Amotekun different from ESN/Hisbah? I'm not igbo but can use my head. Use yours

Simple answer. Hisbah and Amotekun was constituted by governors, who are the chief security officers of the state. Under which authority did Kanu constitute a state or regional security organisation?

Ok. If ESN arrests fulani herdsmen or others commiting crimes, what will be their next course of action? Do they have the power to prosecute them?

Yes, a security outfit is seriously required for the eastern region, but a banned organizational led by a fugitive is not the person to create and run it. Easterners should demand that the Governors should actually do their job.

That's my issue with my eastern in laws, they always fight the right causes the wrong way.

What happens after the marauding Fulani herdsmen are no more or long intervening periods when there are no attacks. Kanu will turn the security network on his fellow igbo men, the ones that oppose him or don't agree with his vision, the ones he calls "efulefu". That's not if he does not turn them against the Nigerian state.

The Governors can be terrible, but at least they are limited by other state apparatus like the legislature and Judiciary apart from oversight by the federal government. Who will control Kanu and IPOB if they get instruments of violence?

That's the only legal authority you have to work with. Any other unrecognised body would be termed terrorist.

OPC as a security outfit was banned by OBJ. Civilian JTF was formed by the FG. A collaboration between the army and local militia.

My problem is why all the noise? Do the governor's need to hold press conference to support ESN? Can't Igbos be coded?

You think they are not aware of the sponsors and supporters of Boko Haram and Fulani Herdsmen? And we shouldn't even compare ESN with anybody these.

Everyone has a right to self defense. Since the government cannot help defend that right for the people, let the people help themselves.

War should be the absolute last resort. There are ways for Nigerians to get the freedom they seek but almost every Nigerian in Nigeria is corrupt. They are too easily divided hence this regional crap they have been conned to support.
no one pray for war but the soldiers in support of government don't want a war but if it comes so be it today only belong to us, tomorrow never be for us but what matter most is the end result, Nigeria has been there before but never learn from it, Rwanda Liberia and Sierra Leone have been there before and come back clean and better than what it is and what is happening presently in Nigeria is more even closer to war zone,
