Very real, the free meter program started October 30, 2020. Nobody knows yet when the free package will end Initially we used to charge N63,263.67 for single phase meter while three phase is N104,069.33 but since the commencement of the National Mass Metering Program (NMMP) we have removed the cost of the meter and also reduced the registration fee. |

aieromon:Before i made this post, i knew people like u will surface but am not burdered over u, if u check my signature u will see am also into car clearing, so it should occur to u that I've seen money, i mean real money not in the range of N10,000. This prepaid meter work is just another work am so privileged to be involved also, so i can understand u ok? But i wont engage in trading insults with an already perceived low life aieromon: Whatever i used in describing either myself or others around the service chain of this application does not in anyway affect the services to be renderd. And finally, let me tutor u, before u call something scam, analyse it properly 1. Look if it has an address, try and confirm if the address is existing or not, if yes send someone or u go and find out if such product/services is truly available in the said address. 2. Seek others opinion on the subject matter to find out if such thing is truly going on or not, since i mentioned EKEDC u can go to EKEDC website, Facebook Page or Twitter Page to see if similar thing is happening or not, send them a mail asking for the procedure on how its done 3. There is a phone number in my post, try give yourself brain (Even though u cnt give what u dnt have) act like u really wana apply, call or whatsapp then check out the response to ascertain if this person truly knows what he/she is talking about 4. Ask for some evidence of previous work done, make further findings on that evidence to confirm if its a genuine document Do all these before u come out and spill trash 1 Like |

Please also NOTE that we are returning to our normal system of work which has it's details in the image below, this is because there seems to be lack of honesty in the Government's arranged NMMP system, it is far better and easier for u to apply, pay and get your meter in 3 months than to keep waiting for one free meter that may never come. But if u still insist on the free mode, no problem just come and apply with just N10,000 Only. These are the conditions applicable to each category of application. 1) The Paid Meter - We apply for u and keep up with the follow up on your application till meter is deployed and installed. 2) The Free Meter - We apply for u, give u the application printout like the ones above then hands off the work, whenever u see the meter, u thank God We dnt want to be held liable in the process of one free meter application that may not come then clients will be disturbing us as asking for their meter Just apply, pay and get your meter... Forget APC and their promises till power changes hand in 2023. All the images i posted above are all on paid mode, non of them is on free prepaid meter mode, so their meters will definitely be deployed immediately they completes payment.

See the FAQs for the prepaid meters under the NMMP Carefully read the answers given to the question Are the meters free? You'll agree with me that the meters are not actually free anyway, u will still be made to cough out the money at a later time and by then u may be coughing out more than the normal price as at today

Re: You Can Now Apply For Your EKEDC Prepaid Meter Here by kaysy(m): 11:26pm On Dec 01, 2020 |
Larry1960: See the meter prices below. Our application and processing fee is N15,000. But if u want to apply under the NMMP we charge N10,000 for that cos our work stops at the end of the registration process. So add up to get total amount payable.

Larry1960: I suggest you DIY and bypass middlemen. 1. Visit the EKEDC website to download the form. There is a section where a licensed electrician details is required and these contractors usually loiter around the EKEDC premises with their seal. You need their seal and licence registration number to complete the form. 2. Go back to the EKEDC website and complete the online form entering all the requested details. Once you submit, you will be sent a notification. Please note that you will be adviced to scan the hardcopy form to newservice. I never received a response from that email. 3. About a week later, your application should be approved. Follow up with the officer that sent the approval mail and eventually, he/she will assign a MAP provider to you with a MAP number. 4. The MAP staff will conduct a survey of your premise and issue a notice to pay with the MAP reference number into a designated account at the official price. After payment is made, send evidence via email. 5. Be patient and wait. In my case, MOJEC ran out of stock and I was duly notified. When they received supply, I was contacted and installation took fifteen minutes. The period of time from payment to installation was less than 3 months. |

Here are some of the benefits I see in this scheme. 1. Reduction of unnecessary illegal fees. 2. Pay as you consume however, It doesn't stop your card from been exhausted before time. Infact the discos will be smiling to the bank when your card is exhausted before the stipulated time. 3. The disco might be forced to allocate more power supply to areas that generate more revenue as a result of high usage. Aside these, there are some weaknesses in such scheme 1. Many Nigerians would will circumvent the system to have free energy. 2. The number of power hours allocated to your area might not change except the disco is benevolent enough. 3. There might be hoarding of metres A big question that struck my mine is this, NERC( National Electricity Regulatory Commission) said when there is fault on the 33kva line, the disco are to rectify such problem within 24hrs. How many disco had keep to this rule? Will they be forced to comply or it would be business as usual?. Another is, would the disco replaced damaged transforma or they would rely on contribution from their customers? Aside these, one main weakness is the fact that some |

omoharry: What fees are you referring to? Your application needs to be APPROVED before you can be assigned to a MAP vendor and given authorisation to go ahead and make payment for a prepaid meter. Send completed forms to newservice@ekedp.com and copy customercare@ekedp.com |

Re: You Can Now Apply For Your EKEDC Prepaid Meter Here by kaysy(m): 7:46am On Dec 24, 2020 |
omoharry: The person who helped u with the registration here is already the middle man in this case, whether he is an insider (A Staff) or an outsider (An Agent) so by The virtue of that he should be solely responsible for the complete follow up on your work not u, considering the fact that u already paid him N25,000 worth of registration fee for 2 people, or maybe u applied for more than one meter, cos what we charge here is N10,000 per meter registration. This prepaid meter application process is like clearing a car at the port, no matter how knowledgeable u think u are, u must definitely need an agent to do the job for u. Please u are already working with an agent, that's the person u paid money to. Meet him |
