My Compaq laptop refused to power on, so I just abandoned it for a while.
Last week, while enjoying a creamy cup of tea, I accidentally spilled the tea on my HP 2000.
Immediately, I turned it upside down and tried to perform a First-aid kind of repair on the laptop.
I removed every easily removable parts and went ahead to sun-dry the HP 2000. Then, I remembered my Compaq laptop, so I took it out to also enjoy a sun-bath with my HP 2000.
When I brought the Compaq in, I allowed it to cool and then powered it on, voila! The laptop came to life.
Shockingly, I tried to power it on the next day but it wasn't responding. I repeated the same process - Put it in the sun, allow it to cool and then power on)... It turned on again!

At first, I thought it might be the CMOS. But after some test, I realized it wasn't the CMOS.

Gurus in the house, what should I do to make this laptop start working perfectly?


Problem 2:
The audio of the Compaq laptop is not functioning. I tried using earpiece to see if the speaker was faulty, but the sound still wasn't playing.

I'm guessing it can be the audio driver (abi, what do you engineers call it sef?), or maybe a fault from the Windows 7 OS, I'm not sure.

What should I do?

I've already told you all you need to do, since it's not working then you have to see a laptop technician.

Google it ... I don't the time to dig through again ... It on hp forum and yeah, the solution worked for an old Compaq with win 8.1

The compaq is operating on windows 7 and it's 2Gb ram. I will reinstall windows 7 and see if the problem is solved.
