if you know the number of white men who date black women...you will not state the BS in here...I stay in the most mixed state in the US and for every black couple you see, you see 2 mixed couples with the women pre-dominantly black and that did surprise me...would have thought it was the other way around The statistics suggests otherwise. When discussing topics like this, you have to use averages and compare to other averages, not i saw black women with White's 7 Likes |

Leshurr: #1. The Silence is Deafening! When I first arrived in the West, I was so taken aback by how quiet everywhere was. On the way out of the airport, I looked around in awe as the pristine clean roads were not littered with with hawkers, jampacked cars , numerous pedestrians and the blaring sounds of horns! - although, mega-cities like New York is an exception to the rule. quite is nice better than the 20 churches and mosque on every street in Nigeria. With no control on noise pollution
#2. Your Neighbours & The Police: You Can Co-exist with Neighbours for Years Without Ever Saying a Word to Each Other. In the average neighbourhood, you can't make noise anyhow. Everyone minds their business. ... The most you will get out of your neighbors is an occasional nod and smile. Although this doesn't deter them from watching your every move through their windows... they won't hesitate to call the cops/snitch on you at any slight opportunity. Make noise and fight with your spouse anyhow and you will find police knocking at your door. in a civilised society the police is your friend. Wife beating is not accepted here like in Nigeria
#3 Raising kids in a Predominantly Black Neighbourhood Can Spell Doom. Bullying is incessant in these communities. Gang culture, crime, violence etc.. not necessarily true
#4. Your Child(ren) can be Taken from You. This almost happened to a close friend of mine whose nosy neighbour called child services on her because she heard her baby crying for a lengthy period of time. And the police actually showed up to her house to carry out a thorough investigation on the living conditions of the baby.. Thank God nothing incriminating was found.. Moral of the story: be careful with how you care for/discipline your kids when living abroad. What we call discipline in Nigeria is actually child abuse here. Nigerians are damaging their kids in Nigeria and these kids grow up and accept violence as the norm.
#5. Nigerian Churches (most RCCG branches) are Epicenters for Drama & Toxicity. Avoid! Just Avoid! An extension of Nigeria
#6. Black (especially Nigerian women) are at the Bottom of the Food Chain; be it at the Workplace or on the Dating Scene. Young black guys will rather date white or mixed race girls.. (may not be true for all) but my observation living in London. ...and at work, we have to work twice as hard to be respected and valued. The biggest oppressor of a black woman at work is a white woman (and in some cases, your fellow blacks).. but not a white man surprisingly. You must be mixing in the wrong scene, there are loads of black Nigerian women at the height of their careers, no problem dating who they like with loads of confidence and will never accept bullying in any form especially at the work because they know their self worth.
#7. You will Happily Miss Home from Afar and be so Much More Invested in the Affairs of Nigeria than Those Living in Nigeria.
Need I say more? It depends on what is there to miss as nothing works in that country
#8.You May Gain Weight. Why?? Kebabs & Pizzas Chicken and chips. Cheap and irresistibly delicious chinese takeaways Fish & chips Burgers, TGI Fridays & Nandos Depends on the individual, loads of Nigerians go to gyms and do other forms of exercises. There are also loads of healthy takeaway choices
Important Note: This is a light hearted post and just a snippet of my experience so far living abroad.. it isn't perfect here, but I'd choose this over and over again than my experiences living in Nigeria.
My responses are also lighthearted 1 Like |

I know why she avoided #5. Sex scandals among pastors and members is very rife. People poke nose in each other’s affairs. Snitching is common especially if people get to know your immigration status as wobbly. 18 Likes |

My point is, you would think white men would be the biggest perpetrators of racism and oppression in the workplace but in actual reality, white women are... ...and your fellow blacks will never have your back. It is a dog-eat-dog society for the Blacks in the West. Eaten by their fellow Blacks. My advice to Nigerians who go abroad is: As much as possible, live a quiet, non-flashy, very simple life. Avoiding your fellow Nigerians is practically impossible. So do not live a flashy, loud life; do not throw your success in their face; do not attend every party and event you go to. Be "controversial". Do not form or join a click. This is hard as this is so unNigerian, but this will get you out of a lot of trouble. Blacks, especially Nigerians, can be so jealous and wouldnt fail to set you up if they have the chance. 25 Likes 2 Shares |
