help embarassed
it's a budget device (base model ) + MIUI has always been known for its aggressive RAM management so it's normal. You can try setting the apps you would like to keep running in the background to NO RESTRICTION under app battery saver and also consider locking some apps to your RAM. pardon my vague reply(sleep still dey my eye).

Let's be clear with the Redmi 7 Android 10 update based on MIUI 11.

There's no single MIUI 12 feature in the update. I've updated it and I know. The devs must be high on something. They pushed the wrong changelogs but later corrected it yesterday. They said it was a mistake hence the reason why the update was rolled back.

About MIUI 12, it's been confirmed that Redmi 7 won't get it due to compatibility issues but subjected to change. Android 10 is more or less a compensation for that but I'm quite sure that Redmi 7 will get MIUI 12 in the long run. Na here we dey.

First changelog that I received in the first screenshot. The misleading one.

Second changelog after the update in the second screenshot is the real changelog and this was confirmed by mibatman, a worker with Xiaomi.

P.S: they've released the update again to the general public with the correct changelogs (same as the first screenshot).

Good morning people of God. I recently joined the MI family with a Redmi Note 9 pro and I've instantly updated to MIUI 12 but I'm having an issue with call of duty mobile... Screen goes black in the middle of a battle royale match, I always have to restart the game to continue. Any one else experiencing this or can recommend a fix?

Someone complained of this yesterday or so, it seems to be a bug from the new update of the game.

Oga Gptech do you know what could be wrong with my Mi9T Pro?. I notice the switching between Apps isn't as fluid as it should be, but after restarting the phone it functions as fast as a flagship should be, I'm on MIUI 12.

bro if you check my screenshot above you will see that I burnt 1.9gb on the update without any MIUI 12 features, will I receive another update which consists of those few MIUI 12 features? or I have enter one chance?

yeah I know it's an entry level device so I'm not expecting much. but to be closing every single app I leave, that's too much nah. It closes even if it's just two apps in the background.
have tried the no restriction, didn't work.
About locking the app thingy, heard I have to enable developer options first, is that safe to do

I don't understand your question when he said the redmi 7 is not going to have any miui 12 cos of compatibility issues.

You shouldn't expect MIUI 12 features on a MIUI 11 update.

Redmi 7 ain't eligible for MIUI 12 according to Xiaomi. But we are hoping that will change since they also said it's subjected to change.

Also, since I don't work with Xiaomi, I can't confirm if you've entered one change or not. Enjoy the android 10 and security patch update.

if you have a problem with it, state it, if someone can help they will, if you think it can't be solved at least state the problem

I don't think anyone can help, the best anyone of you would do is deflect. But here's the issue anyway:

I can't multitask (that word is even a stretch). Example, I can't be on Twitter and then quickly go to WhatsApp. Twitter will restart, WhatsApp too will restart if I go back to it. Same with all the apps I have. Worst of all, I can't even press the minimise button on any app and then press back button (without even going to another app) without that app restarting. And the phone has generally slowed down.

On the Infinix note I've had since 2015, I can go back to an app I've had opened for days and I'll meet it as is.

For sure Xiaomi is way better than Infinix and Tecno (I'm not in any way comparing the 3 brands), but I enjoy seamless multitasking on that infinix compared to my Redmi note 7.

I've been an ardent reader of this Thread (I don't comment), I got to know about the phone here, and I initially thought I've found a brand to stick with.

Will never be getting anyone of the 3 again ( grin plus, I know it's none of your business

Ha, see, Same issue. That's the dumbest thing to implement on a smartphone. What silly RAM management or what silly battery optimization.

If you click and hold the app in recents it should be like this and you then click the padlock icon

Open security app, tap the setting icon at the uppermost right hand corner, select boost speed, select lock apps, then choose the apps you wanna lock to ram.

Also, go to phone settings, search for autostart from the settings search bar, select autostart and choose the apps you want to autostart.

It's not that difficult.

The one from genius43 is the easiest if you follow the instructions well.
