Good day everyone. I am currently putting together my SOP and supporting documents. My mom and dad has separate lands which were acquired over 13 years ago. I have the C of Os with me, but they don’t show anything related to the value of the properties, which I believe should be over 70m as of today. I want to use the properties as part of my home ties. Is there a way I can show the value of these properties so as to convince the VO of how important the properties are? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Dovelove543: 1:32pm On Dec 24, 2020 |
Do property evaluation. I did it. it will however cost about 10% of the cost of the property but you can negotiate. The valuer should be registered. The company that did mine may charge you less because the guy is just coming up (starter) though registered. All the best. maestro09: 1 Like |

maestro09:Apart from the C of O of the Landed properties you have, if you have the following, u can make also use it - Survey Plan - Deed of assignment - Land Receipts & Stamp Duties - Land Memorandum of Sales - Affidavit of Sales The bolded documents would show the value & cost of the Landed Properties I feel you can convince a VO in your SOP, how the Land is your inheritance, cos in the Nigerian Culture, Male Children inherits Landed Properties Our Gurus & Members in the forum can shed more light on this. 2 Likes |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by olasubomy: 2:11pm On Dec 24, 2020 |
Ose2021: No, it cant be used as proof of funds but it can be used as stong home ties and assets which would be one good reason to compel you to come back home. it will show you still have a job back home. If you can convince the VO that you are coming back to your job after your studies, the pension would be a good point. 1 Like |

deommanuel: Yes, they always review applications before sending NSE request and even their request letter always have that starting remark " This is in reference to your application for a study permit. In reviewing your application, it was noted that you may be eligible for Nigeria Student Express. To get faster processing.................." In response to your second question, unfortunately, no one can make any dedcutions and since we are not privy to their internal workings so it is just best to do your best in your applications, respond to their request as best as you can and leave the rest to God to handle. It will end in praises 2 Likes |

Happy holidays everyone! Please help answer my inquiry. My program costs $44,500 CAD for 2 years (MSc.) and I’m self sponsoring. While showing proof of funds, can I submit my bank statement with a balance of tuition fees for 1 year ($24,000) and living expenses for 1 year ($10,000) or must I have the balance of living expenses for 2 years ($20,000) plus total tuition for 2 years ($45,000)? 1 Like |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by deommanuel: 2:52pm On Dec 24, 2020 |
Philadelphia: Someone always tells me this.. "If you can show more money (that's if it's available), please do." If you have upto 45kCAD, you can show that. They however require you to show 1 years tuition+living expenses. Another remedy would be to convince the VO that you'll be able to pay your tuition and survive for the two years since you're self sponsoring. So showing a business that can generate income while you're in Canada, or something of that nature would help to address that. Goodluck!! IT WILL END IN PRAISES 1 Like |

lentomac:3 months to the start of your program is not bad, you can simply tell them you want to know the city very well before your program starts, as you won't have that much time during studies. But you know going 3 months earlier means more money to he spent, so make sure you have enough cash to cover all that 3 Likes |

ConradAce1: Ok. Thanks for the info. I defer to you. I wasn't aware. My initial application was on July 21and I got a BIL valid for 90 days. He can proceed with biometric if his BIL is still valid |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by mcobex: 2:57pm On Dec 24, 2020 |
Philadelphia:Since you are sponsoring yourself you need to show funds to cover the entire program, because you can't tell them you intend to work while in Canada to cover the subsequent fees. If you can get a co-sponsor it will help. 1 Like |

deommanuel: Thanks very much. I currently have a savings of 15m naira and I will be paid part of my monthly salary (100k) during my studies and will have the balance when I return. Can this suffice? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Philadelphia: 3:00pm On Dec 24, 2020 |
mcobex: I can’t get a sponsor now. What if I get a scholarship for my program (say 50% of the tuition), can this fly? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by mcobex: 3:02pm On Dec 24, 2020 |
Philadelphia:You have to do the math. Do you think the salary paid by your company while you are studying will cover for the second year of your program? If yes, then show proof of that and you are good to go. N.B: The proof will be letter from your company saying you are on study leave with pay and you intend to come back after studies to continue with them 3 Likes |

Philadelphia:If you get funding to cover 50% of your fees then you have to show the other 50% from your side, if you can do that then you are good to go |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Philadelphia: 3:10pm On Dec 24, 2020 |
mcobex: At the bolded, the company has agreed to pay the tuition for the second year. I spoke with the director and requested for the company’s account statement but he refused. He however said he can only issue me a letter to buttress that they’re going to pay my tuition for the second year. This letter he said he will address to the embassy after I sign a bond an have it notarized that I’d work for the company for a minimum of 5 years after my studies when I return in order for them to recoup the investment. I tire for the matter |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by deommanuel: 3:26pm On Dec 24, 2020 |
Philadelphia: 100k x 12 = 1.2M (approx 3800CAD) When I converted the 15M it was around 48k CAD (could be less or more cause of exchange). The POF is okay, considering flight and some extra costs will be covered too. If you sign the agreement with your employer, it's a really beautiful home tie. But I think his refusal to show his bank statement will be a problem. The VO needs to know he can actually pay for the second year's tuition. I'm sure the gurus in the house can shed more light. IT WILL END IN PRAISES |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by mcobex: 3:45pm On Dec 24, 2020 |
Philadelphia:If you must sign the bond, let them pay your first year tuition then, them saying they will pay second year without showing any commitment might not fly(not like the company has any past relationship with the Canadian government). 3 Likes |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by mcobex: 3:47pm On Dec 24, 2020 |
deommanuel:An employer that can't show his SOA but promises to pay tuition fee for second year won't fly at all. I will advise they pay first year tuition (since the applicant will sign a bond that he will work for them for 5 years after graduation). 1 Like |

Hello lentomac 2) Try Ethiopian airline. Compare the price on their website to wakanow price 1) I can’t think of a good reason for resuming 3 months before the start date, sorry. 1 month is fine, without need to give reasons. Maybe others can help with this question. Best wishes lentomac: |
