bizzibodi:And you were there when they were dipping their fingers? You believed a child that said they dipped fingers into his anus and you cursed people that believed the other children that said they only asked him to wash his smelling bum bum. Kindly note that all of them are children. You believed one because the mother was the first to come to social media while you cursed the others. Can you see the reason why it is appropriate for her to pull down the video because the video is creating a bias against the accused already |

onyechez: I don't suppose anyone has been found guilty yet. It would be unfair to publish names while investigations are still ongoing. The boys involved claimed that they didn't do what they are being accused of. What they claim they did is not a criminal offense, so no one has even been indicted. |

Matters arising 1.The state comissioner of education should NOT be investigating the case. This is a job really for the police....in particular for specialist police involved in crimes of this nature...which i think we have in Nigeria. 2.The mother of the victim should take down the videos really...so that any investigation won't be affected by something called prejudice...which can, for example, affect the selection of a jury. 3.The crime has to be investigated thoroughly, and reforms need to be carried out in all schools in AKS immediately. Methinks it is also high time we abolished boarding schools really. They have outlived their usefuless 4.For those wondering why such bad boys as the ones who molested the victim exist in a 'religious school' like Deeper life...many parents send their bad egg children to such schools so that they can get some 'morals' knocked into them...unfortunately it doesn't work (unless you want to run a regime like NMS, Zaria.....scary man)...and the kids end up poisoning other children. 5.Also, it is something of a disgrace that AKS education commisioner is trying to cover up this case. It should be seen as an opportunity to prove her worth as an administrator. Recall how 20 years ago they were saying that Edo girls were prostitues, and instead of the then first lady of the state to lie and say that Edo girls were all pure as the white snow, she did something about it...and that something eventually led to action on the federal level IE NAPTIP. 6.Finally..in my opinion, this case is not going to be sorted. Yes, government inaction and incompetence...but the fact is, assuming you were one of the parents of the accused boys, and your son was proven to have violated the victim....well, the case will be tried in open court, meaning your family would be labelled as a family of bad people...which can have implications for things as marriage stuff....remember Nigeria is not an individualistic society.(and morals is still very important. One young lass I knew once turned down a suitor...because he listened to music she considered 'bad'. She's married now though..to someone who presumably does not listen to bad music) So the mother and father of the victim are going to be pressured...because the sister of one of the bullies is getting married, and if the groom's family finds out...or the brother of one of the bullies too is also getting married...and if the bride's family finds out that their future inlaws nurtured a brutal pedo....questions get asked. Then there is the reputation of the church to consider. The sad thing about Nigerian churches...and I say this as a born again christian, not perfect myself....is that they are far more concerned about looking good than about justice and righteousness. If we as a church of God in Nigeria are ready to sacrifice justice, righteousness and truth on the altar of 'GOOD IMAGE'...then what next? I expected that the DEEPER LIFE school, should have conducted their own inhouse investigation, notified the police , and then punished the boys appropriately. Apart from their letter on 'We will investigate' ...there is silence. No wonder christians are suffering in Nigeria...from all our 'enemies.\' We are not worshiping God...we are worshiping 'Good Image'.Good Image is a poor subsitute for God. We better stop worshiping her. Finally, it is a shame that here on this site, people are defending the bullies, while subtly accusing the mother and her victimised son of lying...without proof. Yes, people lie...but I doubt any mother would go on line to tell tales about how her son was raped...risking his reputation just to pull down a few people. To those people...this is not about you or your church..this is about justice. Indeed, if the Church of God in Nigeria does not stand for what is right...then what right do we have to criticise the government, to ask for help from God.? When we can't even do the right thing.....even if it means sacrificing good image? Well, we can always blame other bogeymen 2 Likes |

Who are the parents of the accused students?. I think this has so much to do with the parents of the accused than with deeper life church. It would amaze you to know that very few deeper life children attend the Deeper life school. Who are the parents of the accused? Are they the ones threatening her or the Commissioner? She needs to clear the air, perhaps. 2 Likes |

Karleb:@ the bolded......Her words, who is to say she did not lie? Deeper life would never ask her to cover sin on their behalf. They may have asked her to desist from blowing the issue out of proportion, in order not to unduly bring bias into the investigation. But to outrightly withdraw the case.....I doubt it U must agree with me that the current social media backlash has already eroded objectivity In This investigation. That is not fair in the interest of justice |
Re: Deborah Okezie: ‘My Life In Danger’ – Mother Of Deeper Life Schoolboy by Eddy000: 11:21pm On Dec 25, 2020 |
Claudiusdeux:Sure, then she should have gone to the court if she wanted redress instead of exposing her son on social media. 2.The mother of the victim should take down the videos really...so that any investigation won't be affected by something called prejudice...which can, for example, affect the selection of a jury.
Quite agree. At least for her son's sake. 3.The crime has to be investigated thoroughly, and reforms need to be carried out in all schools in AKS immediately. Methinks it is also high time we abolished boarding schools really. They have outlived their usefuless
. Well, whether boarding school are relevant or not is a matter for debate. 4.For those wondering why such bad boys as the ones who molested the victim exist in a 'religious school' like Deeper life...many parents send their bad egg children to such schools so that they can get some 'morals' knocked into them...unfortunately it doesn't work (unless you want to run a regime like NMS, Zaria.....scary man)...and the kids end up poisoning other children.
. Wonder how you arrive at the conclusion that the child was molested just by watching the video posted by the accuser. Seem the prejudice you mention in your #2 is in full effect here 5.Also, it is something of a disgrace that AKS education commisioner is trying to cover up this case. It should be seen as an opportunity to prove her worth as an administrator. Recall how 20 years ago they were saying that Edo girls were prostitues, and instead of the then first lady of the state to lie and say that Edo girls were all pure as the white snow, she did something about it...and that something eventually led to action on the federal level IE NAPTIP.
. Again, calling the commissioner a disgrace after only hearing from the accuser again shows the prejudice you talked about in #2. Seems the video has taken it toll on you . Beside, the accuser said she stopped them from asking the her son 'sensitive' questions. I guess if you've ever had encounter with a person who expect you to just gulp in every word said without probing, you won't hesitate to show the way to the door. She's married now though..to someone who presumably does not listen to bad music)
. Again you alleged the boys are 'proven' to be guilty when all you've only seen is the video from the accuser. Here comes the prejudice you alluded to in #2 So the mother and father of the victim are going to be pressured...because the sister of one of the bullies is getting married, and if the groom's family finds out...or the brother of one of the bullies too is also getting married...and if the bride's family finds out that their future inlaws nurtured a brutal pedo....questions get asked.
. Yet again, you've already assumed the accused are guilty. You even went as far as calling the accused pedophile when in fact they are minors. Are you sure your bias isn't kicking in? Then there is the reputation of the church to consider. The sad thing about Nigerian churches...and I say this as a born again christian, not perfect myself....is that they are far more concerned about looking good than about justice and righteousness. If we as a church of God in Nigeria are ready to sacrifice justice, righteousness and truth on the altar of 'GOOD IMAGE'...then what next? I expected that the DEEPER LIFE school, should have conducted their own inhouse investigation, notified the police , and then punished the boys appropriately. Apart from their letter on 'We will investigate' ...there is silence.
. Pls, do you realise investigation takes time given that one need full cooperation of the accuser and the accused? Being silent doesn't imply that nothing is done. Given the way words are taken out of context nowadays, it is more prudent to do a thorough investigation and send the report than having to change your stance every now and then. No wonder christians are suffering in Nigeria...from all our 'enemies.\' We are not worshiping God...we are worshiping 'Good Image'.Good Image is a poor subsitute for God. We better stop worshiping her.
. Well you are not in position to judge if one worship God or Man. Let God be the judge. By the way, how does this in anyway relate to the issue at hand? Finally, it is a shame that here on this site, people are defending the bullies, while subtly accusing the mother and her victimised son of lying...without proof. Yes, people lie...but I doubt any mother would go on line to tell tales about how her son was raped...risking his reputation just to pull down a few people. To those people...this is not about you or your church..this is about justice.
. Hmmn, permit me to use your words against you... Finally, it is a shame that here on this site, people are supporting the accuser, while subtly indicting the accused for rape...without proof( the video isn't an evidence in the law court). And please never underestimate the length people can go even if it involve making sacrifice. Google is repleted with even more 'unlikely' stories. Indeed, if the Church of God in Nigeria does not stand for what is right...then what right do we have to criticise the government, to ask for help from God.? When we can't even do the right thing.....even if it means sacrificing good image? Well, we can always blame other bogeymen
. If the video from the accuser (which is still being investigated) is all you need to arrive at the conclusion that the church is not standing right then more to this unless you are be privy to some evidence we don't have. Beside, I don't see how criticising the church or not should stop one from criticizing the government. The two aren't mutually exclusive. And please the government isn't the boogyman here and every citizen (regardless of religious affiliation) has the right to criticize those who control the affairs of country. And less I forget, do your away with your caveat, anyone can claim to be a born again christian. I can see your end game through the veil. Edit: And pls, before anyone comes with the usual what if he is your child? be reminded that appeal to public sympathy won't hold in the law court. And the video doesn't stand a chance as evidence either. I may sound cold and unfeeling but so is the law court where logic reigns over emotion. So a wise man will rather keep his finger crossed until investigation has been thoroughly done. |

Typical of the Nigerian system where greedy slobs somehow found their way into political office. They are not interested in the harm done to the poor child only in their political interests. If the shithole had been a place where "normal" people lived heads would have roll by now. But trust the high and mighty to protect themselves from the consequences of their criminality . If the woman had not spoken up they would have found a way to muzzle her. That's how messed up things are in this nation run by criminal gangs. |
