Muslims Visit Church In Nasarawa; Celebrate Christmas With Christians by nwekeugochukwu: 11:46am On Dec 26, 2020
Members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, known as Shia, visited a church in Lafia, Nasarawa state, on Christmas day to show their solidarity with the Christian population, IgbereTV reports.

They attended church at the Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ (ERCC), Graceland Lafia, Nasarawa State.

Leader of the Islamic group, Mallam Muhammad Amin said that they were at the church to pray for the healing of the country and Nasarawa State in particular as well as rejoice with Christians on the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

Mallam Amin noted that the birth of Jesus Christ was significant to mankind hence the need for them to rejoice together in love as enshrined in the Holy books, adding that the two major religions believe that Jesus Christ is the true Messiah.

He said: "We are today worshipping here with our Christians brothers and sister to Strengthens the bond of unity, oneness and to pray for the healing and forgiveness of our country and Nasarawa in particular.”

Also speaking, Mallama Zainab Mohammed said there is no discrimination in worshipping God hence the need for people to tolerate one another irrespective of their belief.

Senior Pastor in charge of the Church, Reverend Habila Anthony had earlier announced the presence of the Shia members maintaining that the visit of the Muslims was genuine and urged the members not to panic.

Rev. Habila Anthony described the visit by the Islamic Movement of Nigeria to the church as a sign of unity and love that both religions preach.

One by one they'll come to realise that religion is all about love and peace. Only Islamic extremists always want to be at war with others like say them get different Quran.

Even the sensible Islamic scholars know that Jesus Christ is real and the one true Messiah. "Real" Muslims will not like this news.

As a Christian I have good number of Muslim friends but I tell you Islam is sorry religion for preaching war.

They're the fighters yet they can't conquer.
Thank God for great Christian nations of the world, Islam for show us pepper.

Not all Muslims are terrorists but all terrorists are Muslim.

No imam will be genuinely happy with this... They may shout religion tolerance in the open but deep withing them they see other worship ground as a place of comedy and infidels

That is the reason other Muslims don't consider Shia as Muslims.

We are not truly divided in this country.. Is just that people in positions of power will like to play the ethnic card in order to win some extra political points
