I don't even know what cbn is gonna do to all these bank charges..
Last month, I was charged 3k for account maintainance, 300 vat on account maintainance though it is a current account and each day, stamp duty on transactions is being deducted..
So what are they maintaining actually?

Don't mind them ooh. Op's case is slightly better than mine. When they wanted to remove their maintenance fees and saw nothing they took it like that and left me with -532. These financial institutions are just out to milk us

Very frustrating. When I noticed their deductions I just laughed it off even though I was hurting inside. They waited for me since May/April, maybe if it was dormant till late next year, only God knows the charges they would have taken

Thanks. The plan was to withdraw it first thing in the morning but as you could see from the deductions it wasn't only me waiting for the money to drop. Only God knows the numerous ones they took from others today

What can I do bro? They won't give me back so no need for disturbance, I just had to put it out to alert those it hasn't occurred to. All I know is that I'm not using that account again. Dormant hunger would finish it. Thanks bro

Bro go to that bank and tell them to stop the useless sms. That is nothing but a scam. What the hell do I need sms alert for when I can recieve transactions notifications in my mail and login into my mobile app to confirm payment into my account.

When they started debuting upto 1k from my account monthly for sms alert charge , I went to their branch to cause madness for them to stop the rubbish

And since then, no rubbish sms alert debits again

GTBank are cooperate scammers, my 3k is still hanging in thier bank till today

Lol! You need to see the speed at which I used to confirm if my UBA account isn't dormant when I came across this thread....

I just made a transfer of N200 from my access bank to the UBA account, they(UBA) deducted N100 from it and left me with N100 which I used to recharge my line afterwards...

Mind you, is a year plus since I used UBA last....

That's what I don't just understand. I rarely used that account. It's been months now. Still I was debited, it's just because I needed the money badly and my main account needed to be rectified if not I would have told my friend to hold on or send it elsewhere. I didn't expect this kind of thing.

I am tired of GTBank charging me for text messages on an account that the number linked to it has been changed. I do not get alerts, I have complained and nothing is changing.

This is mind blowing! I thought I was the only one being victimized by GTB...didn't know their werey is universal. What about ATMs being deliberately programmed to dispense maximum of 10k and you pay 33naira for every 10k deducted? Took 50k three days ago and got charged 33 naira plus VAT on every 10k. Awonwerey!.

These financial institutions are just packing our money and they know we'll only shout and nothing will happen, if you're not a celeb or an influenced person that can cause a dent to their names they just treat you the way they like. To make international transactions with these banks is not even easy. Dollar limits everywhere.

I have stopped using those banks for day to day transactions, I used to use Opay, but now I've switched to Palmpay and bitsika. I am really enjoying these online banks, and I get any issue I have with these online banks resolved easily.

No monthly maintenance fee, or stamp duty, first 3 transfers to other banks on Palmpay are free, bitsika only charge you for transactions on dollar or bitcoin, transactions to other Nigerian banks are free, they even offer virtual cards, for my international transactions.
