Wizkid was born on July 16, 1990.



EARLY LIFE:

Wizkid was born into a polygamous family in Surulere, Lagos. He grew up with 12 siblings in a family of mixed religions. His father was a Muslim while his mother was a Christian.

Wizkid attended Ijebu Ode Grammar school and formed a band with a group of friends known as The Glorious Five taking the stage name “Lilprinz” until 2006 after they disbanded upon graduating from secondary school.

Later, he met OJB Jezreel, a record producer who was his career coach and mentor in his early days during his music career till his turning point came when he struck a record label deal with Empire Mates Entertainment owned by Banky W in 2009.
