Scrap the licensed by SON and FG talk. means nothing.

It's not about setting up shop in Nigeria, the question is do you deliver quality?
The same backyard manufacturers who produce the shitty qualities we castigate and hate so much can setup shop real easy and brand it made in Nigeria. Yes it's made in Nigeria, but what are you making ? Just saying.

Not to knock them or anything , but Looked them up and doesn't seem to be that much of a "standard manufacturing " going on. Again, just saying

In Nigeria, there’s always a problem for every solution.

Well it’s not my shop and it met my need.

If I bought over 100 pcs of light locally manufactured/assembled or whatever it is, in Nigeria and none has packed up in 2 years, I think I’m ok.

I was reading till I saw the part that it's a Chinese company.

[s]The thing for me is that some of these items from China are cheaper buying from Alibaba/Ali Express with same 'quality'[/s]

[s]Close to 90% of items imported into Nigeria are from China, including the almighty Turkey Doors.l, but quality differs.[/s]

When I saw an invoice and bill of lading of one major importer that branded his bathroom items in his name which flood the market, I begin to wonder.

All his jacuzzi, shower cubicle are from China and they're branded in his name, with made in UK on it.

All na packaging.

The attached image is from Aliexpress. That Garden light can be ordered including shipping for a price lesser than ₦5000 from China

How much is it when buying from Nigeria?

Hehe!!

It’s also much lesser than N5,000 when you buy from here and you’ll receive your order same day - not 6 weeks or 3 months after.

I never had to comb the whole of Lagos looking for what’s not lost. I only send my Uber driver to the company and they gave him my good.

That’s the big difference here bro!

I see my stuff, pay, obtain my warranty certificate and move. Shikena!

- Superior Insulation
- Better sound absorption (you’ll have to do over 1mm gauge of aluminum or install fiberglass insulation to match this).
- Strength of concrete
- Fire resistant

One of the major drawback of flat roofs in contemporary builds is insulation (heat or sound).

You don’t have to believe. You just need to ask for the address. It’s adjacent COWLSO building in Lekki Scheme II, Lagos.

You are an annoying tribalist and one with low IQ. You obviously don't trust them but yet you keep going back.
It's what I tell people who decide to limit fraud to one ethnicity. Please and please, only buy from the ethnicity you trust, whether it's pure water or recharge card.

I always tell people like you to remember your fathers fought to keep them in this country. They have always expressed their willingness to go form their country yet Nigerians insist against this. Why not support that clamour so you can remain with your trustworthy brothers?

As far as I'm concerned, you should go and thank the seller. Consider the 130k as school fees for acquiring sense. People like you will always be the easiest to dupe and be rest assured you'd keep paying school fees until you finally get your brain functioning.

Good job! I love the cable arrangement.

I’m a networking guru and did structured cabling of some of the best hotels and malls in Lagos. So I can tell a good job when I see one.

I swear, I will never buy anything whatsoever from them again.

My office is on the island, and 20 mins from Idumagbo.

Remember I got all prices from you, but for distance, I went to Idumagbo to buy.

I spent over ₦1,800,000 on cables. Hear the truth, all your prices here are cheaper than I bought.

I regret not buying all those cables from you.
Even if you had made ₦100,000 profit from me, it's still ok, based on your truthfulness.

One Chinedu sold 20mm 7 packs. All were fake an they're breaking any how at the site

We blame government for everything, forgetting we have evil citizens that care about profit than safety of others.

They sell expired goods at Enu-Owa. They do all sorts of evil

Just look at this one. Have you asked yourself how come you are always cheated. It's because of greed simple. You can't guy a guyoyo. Better check yourself before pissing about a tribe because there's something fundamentally wrong with you and your yoruba tribal mentality .

Just ignore that one talking nonsense, reason I chose to ignore him/her.

The issue of tiles I talked about is on the Ebere guy claiming to have loaded, but failed to do so.

All evidences are against him and he has promised to either refund or replace missing tiles. They have association at that Odunade Building Materials Market and their Chairman said I can come with all evidences for them to deal with the matter. He said if it's true that he had the intention to cheat, they'll close his shop and hand him over to the police. Hence, my mind is at rest.

The sole aim of sharing is to enlighten others which I clearly stated in the post

1. When going yourself to buy anything, negotiate yourself if you don't trust your engineer, then pay your engineer a fee to go with you when going to pick.

2. To also ensure you take time to count your purchases before leaving and never trust the words of those that swore to you.

Some people can't comprehend simple write.

We're here to learn and all builders are free to source their materials from any where they choose and they can keep getting quotes from any where.

I remember how respond to many RFQ. We end up getting some and losing out on others. But that will not prevent us from still responding to RFQs.

Those that are born in the 70/80s can relate.

Please what tribe is their chairman and exco that promised to investigate the case

Chief,

Ignorance is never an excuse.

We the so-called "kobo kobo" project owners are the same ones spending multi millions on just one aspect of finishing, most times not getting good value for money.

That term seem to have morphed and often misconstrued to denote so many misconceptions.

Building small small or "kobo-kobo" doesn't/shouldn't mean;
- not performing due diligence
- buying fake/inferior products in the name of na kobo-kobo project, then expecting such product to perform magic
- adopting substandard building methods
- compromising safety
- not paying for services rendered
- feigning ignorance

BTW, does it still count as kobo-kobo if I am capable to walk into the market to purchase materials worth multi-millions in one go?

Me I have taken note of the options to source genuine products directly from manufacturer.

For Alibaba and AliExpress, you're give about 25 days to open a dispute after confirmation of receiving your order.

If you have issues after the 15 days grace period, I think you're on your own. That's the difference.

But have it in mind that it's sometimes also difficult here to claim manufacturer's warranty in Nigeria. They can begin to tell you stories of how the damage is caused by power surge or improper handling.

But I think on this thread, we should start posting genuine places to source materials

I've always felt that Kobo Kobo project meant a building done in stages as money or other related issue allows. As opposed to wiring N50M to a builder for a turnkey building.

Hajjs house was built as a Kobo Kobo project (in fact I think it was on this project that it was coined) but it's far from a low cost build.

People assuming that because they’re flogging stuff on here that we owe some allegiance of purchasing to them. And when people happen to get ripped off and come on here to vent off they’re made fun off. It’s not iwa omoluwabi.

Back in the haydays a lot of the heavy hitters taught us on here. People like Spyder880, Skimanski, Aventures, etc How many of us gave them jobs? How many of the sellers on here have ever sent a check to Seun?

We know when some of the alleged recent big boys were question asking pipsqueaks on here too.

I just don’t like mob mentality especially against one of us that got swindled.

Kobo Kobo project doesn't necessarily mean the builder is poor.

It simply means stage by stage development, rather than timed project done on contract basis where the contractor tells you it would cost ₦50m to finish the house and you out the amount in the bank.

I remember how I started my project.

I gave myself a 3 months timeline to roof, which we achieved.

We started the first of 23 pile points on 15th April, 2020 (during the lockdown) and roofed the building exactly on 15th July, 2020.

Took a break for 1 month, then moved to windows.
After windows, we started conduit piping in September.
By mid October, we moved to sight fully with wiring, plastering etc.
From November till date finishing commenced fully with tilers, POP guys, electricians, bricklayers etc everyone is there at the site now, hoping that by Mid January, we should be done.

We are over 70% done

It still a Kobo Kobo project done in stages

This post isn't for me though. I do my due diligence before hiring or buying anything. In fact, I buy material myself from trusted dealers and making sure it's original (Most artisans get angry doing this as they always thought money will be given to them to source the materials)
