Thanks for this. The Monzo was person to person I guess right, cos reading the Monzo rules they said they don’t accept any international payment. Sorry to border you on this.

For the laptop, I am new here and won’t want to start thru that root, guess it’s gonna take sometime. I just need like a laptop store where one get some discount and delivery within few days. Hp does 48hrs, while dell is 15days above because they make for you and deliver. Just somewhere with some discount to help man save a little.

Thanks bro

I dont advise people to buy laptops in those shops like curry's johnlewis and ao etc. I would just go on ebay and get a good thinkpad. Those laptops are so rugged, you'd have to use them for life. I bought mine on ebay in 2012 and still working. I only had to change the hard drive too ssd and upgrade the ram. I have just bought another one cos I'm tired of using the old one.

Hi Guys,

Anyone know any shop that sells laptops with possibly lesser price aside from the manufacturer site (hp, dell). I believe there are some shops with sales and all that. Any one to recommend to buy online. Store with good PCs and no some refurbished stuff. I want to order but dell is doing that their we will build for you, which is nothing less than 15days. Need something to study with while quarantining.

Also I want to know if there is anyone that does crypto here and does the person advice to use a Monzo account?

Thanks in advance.

This is entirely budget specific...... Do you want a 10th gen processor, high spec or older gen processor, high spec or high gen old spec or new gen lower spec.......

You see.... Nah your pocket go determine am.....

Nothing beats the nostalgic effect of a brand new device vs the sweet symphony of getting an older generation bargain........ cheesy

Lol. I think you need to apologise to all the hardworking and skilled professionals who studied in Nigeria and are currently plying their trade everywhere around the world. A lot of them distinguished and very accomplished!

You just called all the Nigerian trained doctors on this thread quacks and mediocres compared to their European counterparts, as well as the IT practitioners, and other successful professionals in all walks of life, and the graduate students from Nigeria who finish top of their class all over the world. While I won’t hold court for anyone, I certainly do not agree with you that anyone, no matter where they were trained, is better than I am in my profession. Education is a continuum, and there is no barrier to learning in this day and age.

That said, you are entirely entitled to your valuation of yourself and your worth as a Nigerian, but sadly, I don’t, and will never, share in your view. I believe I am up there with the very best, and the opinion of a stranger on a faceless platform ain’t gonna change that!

Peace!

Business laptops are more durable than consumer laptops. You cannot get a business laptops in shops, if consumer laptops are designed durable like business laptops and sold in shops, retailers would close shop. Most consumer laptops, if you use all day like i use mine, it wouldnt last 2 years...o ma burn ni.

So, it is not about bend down or cheap stuff..Heck the the Thinkpad p50 i just bought was £800 because it has the specs I want.

Hummmm..... I have always used company laptop and January I had to buy my own laptop for work. Bought a business spec similar to what I use to at work from CURRYS Business section .... Unfortunately bought Dell as the only word I can use is unfortunately

Since then it been one problem or the other. They had to fix the laptop for free twice now since it's still under warranty but I cant understand how a new laptop has so much problems.

Sorry to bust your bubble...you cant get a business laptop in shops. They can disguise it as business but I have some sand to sell to you...

Imagine Dell supplying corporate laptops to organisation with 50k employees and all packed up within a year, that is a very bad business for Dell. So, what they do generally is build these laptops to be resilient so as to have repeat business. they dont break down eaily unless you make conscious efforts to destroy them.

I really was sold sand...because even those work laptop many are leased. Despite how you throw them up and down they hold up so was very surprise at this nonsense here ..... maybe Lenovo or another brand would have been better .

What pained me I paid extra thinking it was a strong business laptop

Hello, please I need help. Came in to the Uk September with my family. Either myself or hubby wants to start driving ASAP..especially cause of school runs and moving about as a family. We came with international drivers license and we have a car to use but which insurance would you recommend that is flexible and more pocket friendly. Hoping to learn from your experience please. At least we can drive till license expires then do a few paid lessons later and test. Please advise. Thank you

Thanks guys for the constant effort to help awon sheshede’s (hope I got that rite). I have checked those stores and they have more of personal laptops, I actually need a business laptop and have seen two I like, the dell one will take weeks to be delivered and I don’t have that time, the hp elite book is over £800 and I feel like it’s not a wise thing to do right now owning that I just got here. A part of me is saying I should get something small just to start class and all that, then when I and family are well settled, then I can get a higher one, but with the spec I need, it would cost up to £500. Now buying £500 laptop to later buy an £800+ laptop seems like a waste of £500 to me cos you would have just added £300+ to get your choice and move on with life.

So na there I de when I con say make I ask people wey de here since weda them go show man way. The matter tire me. Sometimes I go just wish say person na dangote pikin. I no sure say na laptop of £800 person for de think. Sebi na how to buy new private jet i for de think. Na only God self know which one go hard to think of pass weda laptop or private jet. I won’t advice anyone to go in for that reason cos there are so many things involved. But if you go in for the coin trading itself, you will benefit the exchange rate stuff. I will give an instance.

Example 1:
Say you buy a coin @ $3000 for 5unit ( ie @ $600 each), you watch for a little while to get it up a little to say $680 ( this can be in few days or few months depending on the choice coin). Then you sell making $80 for each unit, totaling to $400. Now remove all charges ( at buying and selling time so as to retain your invested $3000). You will still have some dollar plus. So let’s assume you used $100 (which Is not possible) to cover your charges/fee for buying and selling process. You still end up with $300 on your initial investment. Both added will get your extra pounds.

Example 2:
You can buy dollar for 415 naira on there and then convert to pounds to get it out. Now this help you reduce not so much money, but in bulk enough to cause a change in your pocket. This has no risk as it is just exchange, you only get to benefit this because you have a pound card here where you don’t get extra charge to use your card and also to receive money.

NB: it’s something I will advice one to take his/her time to watch the market move and pattern. One with good prediction tactics will do so well trading coins. This sounds so smooth and easy, but will also sound easier when it goes the other way round and all you have is a serious migraine at the back of your head.

The fact that you think the bolder is ridiculous worries me. Even me as an employer wouldn’t pick a Nigerian over a Brit, having experienced the two systems of education.. unless I want to pick based on sentiment.

Apologies to anyone offended but I’m being honest.

I saw computing in Nigeria and I saw computing in UK, and I saw the HUGE difference. The times I hired a Nigerian over a European was cos of “na we we” not cos they were better.

So if you think you’re now exempt from preferential treatment, leeeemaaaaoooo!

Same here, the work ethics of Nigerians is also not encouraging.
