The Misguided Hate On Nigerian Rich Kids - Opinion by Freemasonry: 6:04pm On Dec 29, 2020 |
I've come to understand that it's almost normal for the hoi polloi to hate privileged people. I don't really understand the psychology behind that but I know it's unhealthy and silly. Instead of misdirecting such misguided hate on people whose fathers made money why not hate your father who couldn't make it. Take for instance, a few years ago Paddy Adenuga had published an inspiring article where he shared his struggles in business and how he succeeded, but in a bizarre twist of narrative the haters attacked him and alluded to the fact that his father's money did this and did that. Shortly after, Dj Cuppy was also bullied online by people who believes she has no business being a dj, let alone a popular one at that. To them it's her affluent background that's doing the trick not her talent. The same with Davido. No matter what he does, how many awards he wins, or cool tunes he drops, he'll never be good enough for these people who believe he didn't earn his place at the table. Instead, they revere and respect those they think are from the streets even when these people are nothing short of mediocre. A case in point is the current frosty relationship between Davido and Burna boy, how did it all start? Both of them were chummy until Burna boy made a disparaging remark about Davido's father buying fame for him. This was not only in bad taste but smacks of obvious jealousy. That you struggled to climb up the ladder due to lack does not make you better, or mean that those who have the resources to advance their dreams or careers must suffer like you before their talents can be validated. And if the eyewitness account in the media is anything to go by, then it’s obvious that this unfortunate incident was all Burna boys doing. He showed up at the club with 6 hired goons and went straight to the VIP section where Davido was sitting to confront him. Although this is yet to be verified but judging from Burna boy’s propensity for violence it is highly probable that is what happened. It’s time people do away with this wrong notion that privileged kids don’t deserve what they have. No matter how hard they work there’s always someone who thinks that without their money they’d probably not make it that far, but nothing could be farther from the truth. These kids work just as hard as the poor kids, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with using what you have to advance yourself. I mean you can’t hate on these kids just for being rich as if they’re the ones that stopped your father from making money. It’s wrong and it’s in bad taste. Instead of hating divert that energy into making money so your kids won’t be just like you. Shout out to David. Keep keeping it a 100. 252 Likes 20 Shares

Hatred will not kill some people aswear. since their fathers are not rich they decide to hate people whose fathers are rich and wealthy. why not hustle and workhard for yourself instead of hating on people who are ten times better than you. 157 Likes 10 Shares |

Not just rich people, but happy people or anyone that looks like he or she is not struggling. I don’t know if it is everywhere, but I am sure it is in Nigeria and it is an epidemic here. This is not about Davido, but a trend I have observed- online and offline. 269 Likes 26 Shares |

pocohantas: You can't munchup everything, hate for the rich kids is not same as hate for happy people or made hustlers. oyato sii ra'won. Maybe the thread is not about davido, buh its certainly about the ObOs only, when people start downsizing timaya, olamide, wizkid achievement to background then we can address it as a general thing. adding to the narrative was the only way to feel among miumiu aunty linda is fvcking rich, is there any similarity between how people hate on her compared to dj cuppy. @freemasonry i am not surprise you agreed with her, buh it only shows you don't have an indepth knowledge about your own topic. 47 Likes 5 Shares |

jornwhite: C’mon get da fck out of my mentions. Because I have been ignoring you and your rants, you think you can make it your life ambition to keep hopping on my posts with your terrible English and not-well-thought-out-rebuttals. I will munch up anything I want. Yes, Nigerians are terrible people. This includes you and that is why you are triggered, because the table you are sitting on was shaken. If you have any iota of understanding, you’ll see Timaya and Wizkid perfectly fit into the grass-grace story which Nigerians like. So they’re less targeted. It is right there in my post, but no, you don’t ever read- you can’t even read. Once you see Poco’s post, you jump out to attack something you have no full understanding of. I have said it before and I will say it again- whoever is fcking you better use protection. Your low IQ can easily pass for an STD and I fear for whoever contracts it. 162 Likes 12 Shares |

I am not a fan of Davido, but I like how he keeps going further, making more hits with people they can only dream of. Heaven knows I'll use my wealth and might to take my children to the top when the time comes. If I fit afford school wey dey pay #10 million per term, I go put them there. There's no point of striving to be wealthy, and end up allowing my kids start from the bottom. God forbid 130 Likes 9 Shares |

jornwhite:Did it cross your mind that you could have actually made your point without being impertinent? Anonymous forums like this doesn't mean you can't be graceful and subtle when you have a difference of opinion. You better lose this attitude of yours in 2020, coz if you carry on like you know everything in 2021 you're going to grow into a very hateful person. And for the record, hate is hate. Unless you know something we don’t. 25 Likes 2 Shares |

We live in dangerous times and there is a modesty that is most prudent. While I was at the university the daughter of a serving governor ate in the same wooden shack buka with us despite deluxe eateries around. I can tell you she was the most respected person we knew in the faculty, well loved. (We also knew her DSS guard who also attended classes with her, she obviously read him orders never to harass peops). She donated towards parties and picnics. The girl humble die. Rich kids don't help themselves with the need to brashly show off. Yes, the money is yours but why paint a bullseye on yourself for other frustrated peops to execute target practice. We live in dangerous times! 58 Likes 2 Shares |

The hate and jealousy is simply because of the high poverty rate in the country coupled with the fact that most of these rich kids parent are part of the people that destroyed the country. They are part of the people that contributed to the rot in the system So Nigerians are automatically transferring that hate to their children. How do you expect people not to hate somebody like kiddwaya that was busy bragging on bbnaija that he spent 3.1 million naira to charter a private jet that took him to Lagos for the show. In a country where people are dying of hunger and there's extreme poverty you sef think am. And for somebody like Davido, his own hatred is even self inflicted ( I feel he talks and displays to much information on social media) Only a Davido will buy a car and be videoing how they are offloading the car inside his compound and still tell you that he paid 120million for it. In other for these hatred to reduce some of these Rick kids should learn how to be conservative, it not everything they should be saying on social media. this is Nigeria where hunger and poverty is endemic and a lot of people live for the day 96 Likes 7 Shares |

In as much as I wholeheartedly agree with your beautiful write up let's not forget that the children of the oppressors of this country also fall within group called rich even though their parents are not known to have neither a functional business nor did they invent something that propelled them to amass wealth, but they got rich at detriment of their constituents whom they have have kept impoverished due to their insatiable greed, as far as I am concerned anyone whose parent falls within the category of a political oppressor should be hated. In the past once you are thief and you caught, everything that has to do with you will be named and shamed including your kids, this in turn will deter other from committing such crime. If your parent are hard working people, you deserve no hate but if your parent are known looters of the common wealth of the people, people that deprive their constituents of hospital, schools and social amenities then you should enjoy and partake from the hatred that befalls them. I love Davido and Burna.. they should resolve their issues amicably. 26 Likes 2 Shares |

Nigerians generally have hatred for rich kids. They aren't the cause of your misfortune also no be them say make your papa no hustle or find his onions to make life better for you. Here in Nigeria we generally believe someone have to suffer before he makes it in life , that's a fvcked up mentality. Even Nigerian parents carry same mentality, they are always against seeing their kids wallowing in enjoyment because they believe he has to suffer first before he enjoys. Sometimes last year I wanted to send a kid in uni about 50k just for him to use hold body. The mom practically told me the money was too much and that it would get him spoilt that I should reduce it to 5k. I was like is it you joy to see your kids suffer? Why do Nigerians generally have this mentality that someone must suffer before he enjoys or that suffering is better than enjoyment. Anyways this topic made me remember back then in boarding school, there was one rich dude in my class his dad was a top naval officer , (oil bunkering deals , bribery all). Everyone hated him because of his background but as usual of rich kids, Dem no dey stingy at all. They are free and cheerful with giving. As a sharp boy , I made friends with him , helped him arranged his cloths, wash , sweep , we read together and I never regretted it coz that boy spoil me no be small. Even during holidays he always invited me to his house chai see life. Their dog lasan na milk e dey drink every morning. Toys everywhere I could only dream of and I will look up to God, no be human being be this. Na chicken and juice I dey always use clean mouth every morning. Ordinary to chop beans, they will grate chicken inside, add all sorts of orisirisi, sweet corn, corn beef , con top am with one big turkey and freshly baked bread. After food we retire to play games and watch TV all day, play sports . chai oboy life sweet o. Money is good , very good.. Bola dey America now. 37 Likes 2 Shares |
