- Is your NYSC Job (PPA) related to what you studied in school?

Ok,

I think with your 2.1, you are good to go for a Masters Program

You can also go for a PGD as well but on a condition you have a cogent reason why you are going for a PGD instead of a Masters, cos for Visa Processing, u gonna need to explain that

First of all,

Google this Programs

- MA in Global Governance
University of Waterloo, Ontario

- MA in Global Politics
McMaster University, Ontario

Also, there is a link I do see here in the forum where you can check for MASTERS Program related to your field, u can also check for PGD programs there aswell

Open this links, you would see Masters in Political Science & related Programs in Various Canadian Universities, you can also search for more related Masters Program there

https://www.universitystudy.ca/search-programs/?k=International+relations&program_level_merged=Master%27s+degree&program_language=ENGLISH

After you are through with the above content, the contents in the link below is your next plug, take your time and go through everything you see there

Chimzy4real

People usually opt for 2 years PGD, or do 2 different PGDs, so they start with 1 and immediately register for another before the end of the first one, to be able to qualify for 2/3 years PGWP.

Chimzy4real:
You know the pgwp is just a year. Doesn't give enough time for someone to do all this preparation.

You are welcome

So sorry I don't respond to PM. I won't be available, I can only answer questions here in the forum when I come Online. Thanks for the understanding.

About Chances for PGD Admission, there are chances you would likely get the Admission for the PGD, but how well you convince a Visa Officer treating your Application why you are going for a PGD instead of a Masters is where you would need to work on, and that is explained in a document called SOP. Check that link about Canada I posted initially, you would see something related to SOP Guidelines there.

These are the Reasons why I said you should take your time and go through all of those contents in the links in to to, so after checking them all out, you can come here in the forum to ask further questions on things you are not clear of.

Also there are other things that you would need to take note of in order to increase your Visa Chances e.g Proof of Funds, Ties to home country etc.

Hello Guys, this enquiry is for a "special" Friend of mine. Its been over a month now since She applied for a study Visa to Canada and her resumption date is 18th January, the problem now is that last week she received the NSE letter informing her to submit IELTS and a year statement of account on or before 14th of January. The major Challenge here is the IELTS, been that there is no schedule date for Paper based test till the 9th of January and the IELTS result she has, the score for the reading is less than 6. Please I need Advice on next course of action . Note her typing speed is super low if you know what i mean grin.

My dad is a PR in Canada and I want him to sponsor me for the study route in migrating.
My question is I'm married now with a child. Is it possible I migrate with my wife and my child while my dad serves as the sponsor?

Has she thought of deferring her admission to the next start date? Even with NSE she needs 20 days or more to get a decision, without NSE it can take months.

Best wishes

If you go with your whole family at once, plus your dad in Canada, what do you plan to use as your home tie? Is it strong enough? If yes, you can go ahead. Otherwise, I’ll advice you to apply alone and use your wife and kid as your home tie. Then apply for them after you’ve gotten your own permit.

Home ties are things that compel you to return to your country after your studies. For temporary visa, even if they know most people won’t return, they still need you to prove to them that you will return. Examples of home ties; family, business, landed properties etc

Best wishes

Important news for travellers: The federal government says it plans to require air travellers to test negative for COVID-19 before landing in Canada. All passengers on flights entering Canada will require a negative PCR test three days before their arrival. No news yet on when the requirement will be in place. Will update as we hear more.

@just mellow @ frank @ all.

My uncle will be sending me a total sum of 8m to cover for my first year expenses including flight into my personal account. This account hasnt been running well over the time, so i am presenting it majorly to show that i will have access to my uncle fund for the period of my two years. The maximum amount that has entered this account at once is 100k. I was sent a sum of 600k into this same account today. This money belongs to my brother and I will be moving it out to him tomorrow morning. I am kind of worried now if I will need to explain to the VO about the 600k, or I don't have to since the money didn't stay in my account and it's not as if I am considering using it as part of fund for my study. Please I need your say on this. Thanks

You will get daily app updates on the phone during self-isolation and the POE officers will likely insist to see the ArriveCAN receipt on your mobile phone (even when you show them printed one). Use your Nigerian number. That is what several of us have used and its still working.

mcobex:
If you have someone in Canada, use his/her number. If you don't have, I think you can use your Naija number (not too sure though)
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by hope4brym: 12:24am On Dec 31, 2020
Don't apply for a PGD, admission will be easy but it puts your visa approval at great risk.

Apply instead to either a Master's or Postgraduate Certificate. Any 1-year program gives you 1-year PGWP and any 2-year program gives you a 3-year PGWP.
