Anyways, a criminal will still choose to commit a crime, regardless of any stimulant.
Talk about other factors that really result to the rise in crime rate, such as unemployment.
The legalization of cannabis farming will to some degree reduce unemployment level. This is the main reason for pushing the bill, and that is why it is gaining momentum at the senate.

You are only looking at the plus side without doing a cost/benefit analysis to also appreciate down side.
As far as Nigeria is concerned I foresee more problems with legalisation than prohibition.

Legalising MJ would be disastrous. Mj is a wonderful herb but it shouldn't be legalized.

Yeah, I choose to see it from that perspective. Most people don't see it that way. There are other important matters that requires little or no deliberation though.

They should legalize it
We have to diversify our economy
We have to create jobs for entrepreneurs.

If weed is legalize I know how to make weed candy and snacks.

You don't necessarily have to smoke it, smoking is harmful.

Take weed candy and snacks you will still feel good and irie.

I will train many youths how to make safe weed candy free of charge, but now that weed is criminalized I can't even tell anyone that I know how to make those things talk more of train people.
Please I would like to learn. Heard planting Cannabis is a money spinner and can make you tons of money.

Apart from the abuse of weed which you just highlighted as its uses, its a source of cure for several ailments. Are you aware weeds are added to hair treatment creams? This is a multi billion dollar investment coming. Our land in the south is super good for its growth

Let the bill scale passage hurdles and signed into law first. I foresee northerners kicking against in their usual habit but the core north would fail. Middle belt and South have the kind of soil that can grow cannabis naturally so, they'd never join them in pulling down the bill all in the name of hate and religion. Many of them unknowingly have taken some drugs which contains cannabis grin. I'd organise seminars on this when the time comes and it would be free to some nairalanders. I see money coming to our country grin

Nigeria is already suffering from many ills aside political misgovernance(violent crimes, child molestation, domestic abuses, insurgency, prostitution etc) that are compounded by economic depression, worsening mental state, increasing frustration & resort to substance abuse (which also include drugs) and gun-running.

Even regulatory agencies like NAFDAC, NSCDC,Customs,
etc in our airports, rail stations, borders & within are finding it increasingly difficult to exert control let alone stem the tide of illicit drug abuse.So why cant the HOR part of NASS legislate on how to reduce cost of governance by;

-Severely cutting on their over-bloated pay or merging into a unicameral legislation,
-Reducing the numbers of govt MDAs with multiplicity of functions consuming the budget.
-Proscribing the death sentencing for convicted corruption either by "harikira", hanging, electrocution, or firing squad among many?

Instead they are rather wanting to be anti-people in compounding the woes on ground by choosing to legalize Marijuana of all things? This is an explosive disaster waiting.

Is a good development, weed does not make someone useless, unless the smoker wants to make him or her self useless by addiction, smoking weed is very dangerous to your health and the mind, when you smoke weed, your thinking mentality becomes low when you don't have money to eat and take care of yourself, this can lead you into bad gang because you don't have money to smoke, eat, buy some cloth and some money in the pocket, european countries that knows the usefulness of weed have legalize it and that has create some self employment in their countries, you can use it to make tea, snacks or cook with it, the feeling and trips is amazing, not by smoking it's without money to eat,you are killing yourself gradually and slowing. weed is the head of all herb, it's it used in almost all the medicines that we use to take, kudos to them if they should legalize it.

the only problem I have with this is, most Nigerians live below the poverty line, why introduce a recreation plant to the populace when 1, most cant afford it and 2, most cant afford the necessary items to support the consumption of such a plant
food etc

actually contrary to what you think, legalization takes it away from the criminals..in the states, you do need multiple licenses to own a store and even at that, it is capped for a length of time.

and because it is cheaper at the stores, people would rather go to the store than go to a dealer and also, because the stores are strictly regulated with regards to quality , you are certain that what you get will not kill you and to top it off, you do need ID to purchase any form of cannabis and that means that you are easily traced when you do something contrary to what its meant for

They want to legalise IGBO so that more useless individuals can litter our environment. They just want to make youths more unproductive so that they can continue to render them more useless. The man footing the bill must first introduce the Indian helm to his first born then we will know how productive this Indian helm is to the society. Very disgusting set of individuals calling themselves honourable.
