Now that I think of it, we tend to always only look at instantaneous power for cooling systems when what we should also consider is the KWH, that should give an idea of a measure of how frequently a compressor goes on and off, which invariably will suggest the fridge/ freezer's ability to retain cooling.

Actually the inverter devices save power much more than the regular ones under the same conditions.

The inverter freezer does not have surge current like the regular ones have. It starts at 80 watts and slowly ramps up to the wattage its logic control dictates depending on how cool the interior is sensed to be. I have used the 319 litres successfully on a 300 watts inverter and the latter didn't even groan under the load of the freezer.

The compressor is powered by a variable drive motor, which means it can increase to work like a 500 litres compressor to speed up cooling and it can also slow down to work like an 80 litres freezer once good interior temperature has been achieved. The consumption reduces once it senses that adequate cooling has been achieved. The reduction can be as much as half the consumption of regular counterpart devices. This is also the way the inverter AC, inverter washing machine and inverter microwave works.

When all these energy saving scenarios are achieved and added up, it beats the regular devices hands down.

What I would have loved is for the freezer to have some degree of user adjustable settings like the inverter ACs have. That way, you can ramp down the compressor speed as you desire to accommodate your battery storage capacity, of course at the compromise of cooling rate and speed.

Good day house, Can someone assist with the likely cost for the setting up of an Inverter that can carry a Thermocool Deep freezer, 2 Television sets, 1 home theatre , DSTV and about 10energy saving bulbs.

Break these appliances down to watts and state how long (hours) you want to run them per day.
That will help us know what you will need and the cost.

Thanks,
Please find below as requested.

Freezer should be about 500w and will be on 24hrs
TV Sets can't be more than 200w each for 6hrs and about 12hrs on weekends
Home theatre will be about 150w for 6hrs
dstv 100w for 6hrs
Energy saver 200w for 6hrs

Total of approximately 1,500w out of which 500w will run 2hrs and 1,000w will be for about 6hrs

Personal experience, I bought the 319L for madam last year & while the first few months were rosy with I can guarantee you about 2inches of frost formed on all sides of the freezer the following months have not been fun at all.

Problem started with frequent cutting of the freezer. It cuts and cannot be reset until Thermocool is called. Apparently its a feature to help save the compressor from erratic current, either NEPA or gen. But when it cuts you won't know until all your items in it have already finished defrosting. They came twice to 3 times to fix that until they said it shouldn't be happening that often so they took it off to their office. All this na with that standard AVR on it oo so no one knows where its seeing its own from.
That is our next line of thought now.

errrm, by avr, you mean those small devices you plug into the socket and then connect the AC or fridge to??
if yes, why not try a standard voltage stabilizer, those plug in AVRS are glorified surge protectors, they cant increase voltage, if perhaps there is a welder on your phase and voltage drops to say 140v for few seconds as he welds...that will cause the fridge to be cutting in and out. a stabilizer will smoothen out these spikes and give a smooth output for your fridge

I believe the frequent opening and closure gives that undesirable phenomenon. It not only entails opening the lid, but when you get to remove chilled drinks and frozen items from it to sell and then replace with new (warm) ones several times in a day, one might not get to see that power saving thing.

Occasionally when left overnight, it shows around 166 watts by morning but before you know it opening and closure starts again. A careful observation shows that after about the fourth opening, the wattage increases from that 166w to 188w and then settles at 190w. It's almost always packed full with items that are constantly being removed and replaced. It's also used to sell ice blocks, so it freezes just fine with the exception of that high consumption.

Certainly that is normal behaviour as the temp within the freezer will have changed, mine behave as such as well.

This is ironic coming from someone who just offered "advice" to an absolute stranger he's had no previous correspondence with.

You should check your manners.

If everyone here (like you stated) does not offer services then a simple "kindly check elsewhere, there are no sellers on this thread" would suffice & I would be off to some other place for my needs not baseless assumptions on my intentions/personality. That is hypocritical.

Again, I never demanded anyone respond to me.. I simply dropped my message as I did in several other platforms & hopped off. I believed that anyone interested would respond. You could have simply ignored my message & scrolled past.

Finally, your claim that there are no sellers on this thread is false. I just got someone from this thread who is willing to setup an inverter for me.

Goodnight.

As someone earlier pointed out, once in a while there will be persins-miss-road that will visit the thread and give some entertainment, then either leaves or receed to the background after realising their folly.

If I remember clearly we also had one last year, 2019. I think unprovoked he just jumped into the thread and begun throwing insults on peeps here.

This year is almost over. It's amusing but not surprising that the character for 2020 showed up in the last days of the year.

@ richie240, just relax and enjoy the show.

Pls who has usage experience with below SMS solar lighting (150W or 200W)...
Is it bright enough?
Does it last overnight?
Is there a major difference between 150W and 200W?

Thank you.

I use the 200w and it works perfectly! Not had any issues with it and it's very bright. It lasts overnight though I use a "mild to full" settings (the light comes brighter when it senses close proximity to an object and goes dim thereafter)

I have purchased the 150W flood lights from JustCallMenuel.

For testing, I used them at full (strength) illumination and they lasted all through the night and did not go dim at all.

If they keep up that performance for 3 years or more, then I consider them a good purchase indeed.

I've missed so much post in this thread cos I was working with my team on our new forum at https://www.kobocity.com. The features it provides is amazing. What stands out for me is the intelligent search engine it provides. It is available at the side bar and makes suggestions as you type and searches through all discussions and users. What does this entails?

It means post or ideas posted months back would not be lost as it can easily be located by virtue of the search engine. This is one feature I so much wanted here. It's really hard combing all the pages of this thread just to fine a an old post.
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Naijapal: 9:24pm On Jan 03, 2021
In the coming days, I'll be making some of the contributions on this thread available there for the benefit of all. Rhe forum is mainly for builders, home owners and I believe renewable energy - solar falls in there as well.
