nitrogen: If the bailouts continue, excess cash will continue to find its way to Bitcoin. How many months more of this bubble do you think we have, let boys see if they can do a quick flip. I am thinking they will continue to bailout till pandemic quiet down in summer. 2 Likes |

Ibeme: Well, another cruise is expected starting maybe from 2nd week of January, because most will try to have cash at hand and in the bank because of new year celebrations and maybe school fees (if Covid-19 allows schools to re-open in January). As long as we continue to see injection of liquidity into the system by central banks (through corporate bonds purchases, treasuries buy backs, and sustained low interest rates), and fiscal (through another round of stimulus packages between January and March, and higher recurrent expenditures vs capital expenditures in 2021 budgets due to Covid-19), the market will continue to trend upwards. Reference index is the S&P 500 though. Another strategy is to invest in firms (e.g tech, healthcare, clean energy, retailers and wholesalers) that you believe will exceed market expectations for 2020 FY numbers. Most of them will release earnings reports in February and March, you can look to get in now and exit a few days after they release their FY 20 numbers. Market typically prices in expected performances 4-6 weeks before earnings release dates, reason I am suggesting you get in now. Also, I would suggest that you have a target return level, try to take profit when you reach your target. Market may become quiet at some point in the middle of the new year, but I don’t see a correction anytime soon. Nb: Not an advise to buy or sell any instrument, the sh1ts above are based on my assumptions and experience. Won’t be liable for any loss on the back of my post. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Ibime: Boss, if you see $10k BTC e no go reach 1hr before they buy it up and push it up. I don’t even think we’ll see $10k BTC again. I was also waiting for a dip but then I decided to DCA- buying little amounts at random time but with spare change. Used localBitcoins cos exchanges get wahala. It’s not a fireproof method but at least I know say na spare change I use. Used a Segwit address to save on fees too. I don’t know where this thing is going. Grayscale and other institutional investors are mopping up any liquidity they find on the market. You no see as e dey rise as e Dey drop? I know say after the halving prices to skyrocket I’m just not sure by how much. And I have no freaking idea when there’ll be a correction cos those firms wirh big pockets still dey put money into am. ETH has an unlimited supply so people no too dey look that side. Waiting on how the ETH 2.0 upgrade will be. Still not really tempted though. |

Ibeme: I think when Biden assumes power around January and things start looking stable economically and health wise all over the world the price may drop. How do you day trade? Do you use any technical indicator or you do a fundamental analysis ? Cos that shiite is freaking unpredictable. |

OJURONGBE1: He couldn't do it, and he is being benched for it. Why are you putting our poor results on him all the way from the bench. Blame Lampard and the other 11 players he selects and leave Havertz to stay on the bench in peace. 1 Like |

nitrogen: Q4 Earnings calendar will run from mid-Jan to mid-Feb. Most of the techs will be reporting start of Feb. We should already have a clue from Q1-Q3 trading reports. Do you have some names? Wouldn't a better strategy be trading these stocks from 4th Jan? |

Leyqute: I generally stay away from trading and haven't traded for 9 years but I fit reason am for big news days or for crypto. I dey reason am with the way this Bitcoin surge dey vex me. If I do trade, it will be a swing trade based on momentum. I would set up a straddle (both ways) that capitalises on momentum and volatility both long and short eg if it rises 10%, clock me in till it reaches 15% rise, simultaneously if it drops 10%, clock me in till 15% drop. I'll study the volatility history before setting these entry prices and both act as stop loss against each other. Na to find exchange that won't hammer you on slippage be the main issue, more so than your strategy. Na why I just prefer to buy and hold a highly volatile asset like Bitcoin with strong bullish sentiment, but I fit reason trading with the way I dey vex. |

Ibeme: The usual ones like Salesforce, ServiceNow, Zendesk, the FAANG stocks. There are also online wholesalers/retailers/grocery stocks, since most countries have entered/will enter another lockdown, those stocks will outperform. But don't forget that you need to check if they've met or exceeded analysts' expectations in the last few months, you can then use it to forecast q4 earnings performance. We will definitely see more momentum investing in the market with focus on tech stocks. I remember that in March when Zoom was trading at $116. I forecasted the stock to hit $250 to $300 over the next 12 months. Of course, I factored covid-19 into the analysis. Zoom is currently trading at c. $350. The intrinsic value should be maximum of $300, the extra $50 is on the back of momentum, not fundamentals. Starting from 4th Jan won't be bad, but we don't know if a slight dip will be seen due to festivities and school fees paroles. Interestingly, January is considered one of the best months for the markets. We've seen that in recent years except the year 2016. |

What is happening right now is bad business for Private Equity firms that want to take public companies private. They typically base their analysis on fundamentals. But then, the market is so overpriced that they find it difficult to offer current valuations to the shareholders of the companies (they are trying to take private). Huge dry powder in the private markets these days due to this. Sorry shekpites for derailing o, I just love talking about the markets. |
