Happy new year family. I need your help and guidance here please. My husband is 32yrs just completed his bsc last year. And I am 26 with just Ssce and vocational certificate. We want to study in canada. But the issues here is this. Should I the wife apply for undergraduate studies or my husband should apply for masters. What are the chances that we might scale through. Plus any school that dont accept application fee before you submit applications? Kindly help it urgent so we could plan ahead. |

I also claimed starting a business. Although I clarified that the company is yet to commence business, I showed evidence of a 2 year old business registration related to that study purpose. mcobex: 1 Like |

Hang in there and apply for your GCMS note. Its easier said than done so I understand you are the only one who knows where the shoe itches. So we can only hope and pray on your behalf as usual; it shall end in massive praises. BTW, congratulations on your massive funding package. Its a really great job you have done. Uzomachukwu: |

Hi, this situation is quite similar to my fiancée's. And the decision came back as "refuse". We ordered gcms, showed it to an international student advisor in her prospective school. The woman said even with all these fundings, she should still provide proof of funds from Nigeria (self or sponsored). That was strange to me because I only applied with the fundings I got when I applied for mine 3years ago (I am in a PhD program too). I dont know how your application was done, I just felt I should inform you this. Perhaps you could add a bank statement of yours to your application. Interestingly, this was how her own was super long too, she didnt apply in Nigeria though. All the best. Uzomachukwu: |

Thanks for the support and feedback. Will I accompany him? Or what do you suggest. Plus are they school that wont require IELT for master in Environmental science. With low tuition. mcobex: |

ayoadefantastic: That might actually be the issue with my application. What is sad is that I actually checked with USask's International Students' Centre on two different occasions, and the advisors I Zoomed with both mentioned that with my funding, it wasn't necessary showing any other POF. If only I had found Nairaland then! |

Hello everyone. Thank you all for this beautiful thread. I have some questions, and it would be so appreciated if I can get answers. My hubby, 34YRO, has M.Sc in Information Technology with 8 years relecant experience. I am 32 years old, i have M.Sc with a CGPA of 4.2 and CGPA of 4.3 in my B.Sc. I am employed, but in a completely different field entirely. I look forward to doing my PHD with full funding, and I am already compiling emails to send to prospective supervisors. However, I will like to migrate to Canada with my hubby and baby. 1.What do you think is the best route for us? Should we go through EE or PhD route through me? 2. If we are going through PHD route, what is the possibility of going with my family? 3. If going through scholarship route for PhD, what is the minimum amount of POF required? 4. Is it compulsory to attach CV when emailing supervisors? Thank you all. |

It will. Your profile looks promising. Medical passed 2 weeks ago is a good sign. Am sure you will get BVL and PPR very soon. Uzomachukwu: 3 Likes |

AbionaT: You can surely go as a student first then eventually for the EE (express entry). But I would really emphasize on chocs advice... Just prepare for EE. Focus on Ielts first (LRSW = 8777) at least. You have a very good chance since both yourself and your husband have masters cert. One you get the PR, you can then choose to study, the cost of this will be lesser since you will get the privileges of a citizen. Pls, don't go for the adv dip...unless of course u have a genuine reason to switch careers.... Emphasis on the word "genuine"... 1 Like |

davo99: You can use thegcmsonline-dort-corm I've used their service and I can attest that its faster comparably to caipsgcms. They will file your ATIP request the day you submit the consent form and send you a tracking number to that effect. Lastly, you get your note immediately they get it for you--this last point is crucial as I had to request my note from caipsgcms after almost exceeding 35days before they sent it to me and gave a flimsy excuse of just getting it that hour. 2 Likes |

hairbyuj: To your 2nd question Though you would see IELTS as part of the requirements for admission for MASTERS in Most Canadian Universities, but you are exempted cos you come from Nigeria (An English Speaking Country) Check the link below for Masters in Environmental Science Programs in Canada and google them https://www.universitystudy.ca/search-programs/?k=Environmental+Science&program_level_merged=Master%27s+degree&program_language=ENGLISH Also go through the contents in the link below for details on how to Process Masters Admission in Canada https://www.nairaland.com/5818588/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/111#90933556 |
