Saturday Beats takes a look at some celebrities who rocked their baby bumps in 2020

Lineo Oyebanjo

Daniel Oyebanjo, better known as D’banj, sent fans into a frenzy on January 1, 2021, when he announced the birth of his second child, with his wife Lineo. The good news immediately garnered excitement on social media as many fans congratulated and showered prayers on the couple, who had lost their first child in 2018.

Not much is known about D’banj’s wife as she keeps a low profile but her husband occasionally shares some family photos to the delight of his 4.2 million Instagram followers.

Although many did not know that the celebrity couple were expecting their second child, D’banj released some gorgeous pregnancy photos of his wife after she had given birth.

Mercy Johnson Okojie

“I have always wanted four kids and I can’t explain the joy and peace expecting our new baby has brought.” Those were the words that actress, Mercy Johnson-Okojie, posted on social media as she and her hubby revealed that there was going to be an addition to their family. The voluptuous actress, who has not lost her curves even after three children, ‘owned’ the pregnancy and rocked her baby bump effortlessly. Although it has become commonplace for expectant celebrities to release maternity photos showing a lot of skin while flaunting their baby bumps, the actress wore attractive but simple outfits.

The baby was born in May, and is named ‘Divine Mercy Ehinomen Okojie’.

Regina Daniels

Young wife, mother and actress, Regina Daniels, has not lost her flair for looking good. Just when the dust was beginning to settle over her controversial marriage to billionaire philanthropist, Ned Nwoko, 59. Regina released gorgeous photos of her baby bump on Instagram, announcing that she was excited to be a first-time mother. The pictures, which attracted over 40,000 comments, was a ‘grand show-off’ for the sensational actress. Daniels constantly updated her Instagram followers about her pregnancy until the day of delivery. Thankfully, she has a cute son to show off and has also snapped back into shape.

The child was born in June, and is named ‘Munir Neji Ned Nwoko’.

Simi

After her private wedding to her colleague, Adekunle Gold, award-winning songstress, Simisola Kosoko, better known as Simi, ‘dropped’ a hit track titled, ‘Duduke’ to reveal that she was expecting a baby.

Not only did Simi get accolades for the song, she also got lots of congratulatory messages. Music lovers also participated in the ‘#Duduke challenge’ which had the participants showing baby bumps.

Although the 32-year-old singer did not post pictures of her pregnancy, the video for ‘Duduke’ showed Simi flaunting her bare and bulging stomach.

The couple now have a daughter who was born in June, and is named ‘Adejare Kosoko’.

Linda Ejiofor- Suleiman

When photos of Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman’s baby bump hit the Internet, many gushed about how cute the actress looked, gently cradling her baby bump. Her husband and colleague, Ibrahim Suleiman, also took to his Instagram page to describe his wife as a “strong and brave hero”.

This cute actress is one of the few celebrities whose pregnancy photos went viral online and attracted over 10,000 comments on her Instagram page.

Ejiofor-Suleiman was delivered of a boy in July.

Toolz

Losing the first pregnancy can be one of the most painful experiences for a woman, especially for a media personality that has been on the social media radar after her star-studded wedding and the announcement of her pregnancy. Being a curvy personality, Toolz announced her second baby in a ‘mama Africa’ style. Even though she had been secretive about the pregnancy, the OAP finally posted videos and photos of her rocking her baby bump as best as she could in figure-hugging outfits and looking every bit sexy.

Some months after giving birth to her bundle of joy, Toolz, via her Twitter handle, said she was thankful for not contracting COVID-19 while pregnant.

She had a son, named Asher, in July.

Bambam

Bamike Olawunmi and Tope Adenibuyan (Teddy A)’s love story was one of the most celebrated of the romances that have developed from Big Brother Naija. The pair, fondly called ‘BamTeddy’ by their fans, had their star-studded destination wedding in Dubai in 2019. Just days after their wedding, Bambam revealed that she was expecting a baby and shared some gorgeous photos of her pregnancy shoots.

Bambam also wowed some of her fans when she shared some bold Egyptian themed pregnancy photoshoots. The pair have also welcomed their baby girl, Zendaya.
