Hey guys, Is there anyone here who has successfully gotten a certification from aws? How easy was it for you and how long did it take you? Is it something anyone can easily learn if they give up time for it?

I am GCP certified. Nothing too difficult, though it was kinda easy for me, cos i've been using GCP for a very long time.
Much of it comes down to hands-on experience, cos one thing is for sure.
The questions are way different and tougher from what will see in practice/mock exams or youtube videos
So I'd advise you to create an account with your intended cloud provider and gain practical experience for at least 6mths;
before attempting the cert exam.

IT certs Ain't a work in the park. They require serious study as the exams test for domain knowledge. It's different from oil and gas where you could sit down pay money sleep in the classes and get certified. You gotta do the work.

Get a free to use AWS cloud, then practise. That's all, don't over think it, just do it.

Over thinking doesn't help trust me, Ive been using it for over a year but not for for certification purposes, and trust me there's a demand. You will be doing yourself a great service doing this for the new year.


So just do it.

AWS free tier has no amount tied to it. You are rather billed based on instance-hours or per-GiB data ingress or egress, depending on the service.
Some services have free trials for 1 month and some are limited to X number of API calls per month during the free tier which extends to 365 days.
GCP on the other hand will give you $300 which can be used platform-wide. After the expiration of the money, you still have 12 months (minus how many months you've used so far) for select services as in the case of AWS.
Both of them will also give you a very underpowered compute engine to play with free for 365days.
Azure follows the same pattern as GCP

Show us screenshot of your billing account with:

1.) where it said AWS gave you $200 for the free tier, and
2.) Where AWS and the rest of them applied the 5k, 12k, 10k etc. to your credit history

Twilio gave you 10k usd lol, me and Twilio are like 5 and 6.
FYI, it's sendgrid that gives up to 12k, and it's not a lump sump credit. You're only allowed to use the service for free and every month
what you've accrued for is paid for you on your behalf for 12 months.

If it is about Amazon AWS, then my answer would definitely to go with cloud skills. In this regard, Amazon offers two types of training. One is role-based training, and the second one is solution-based training, and in my opinion, both have their own importance. Advanced networking, databases, security and machine learning related skills come under the solution-based training programs of Amazon AWS. You can also pick architect and developer-related skills because they are also in-demand in the IT market.

In this regard, you can visit online Amazon AWS courses and apply for Amazon AWS certification because such skills would have more impact when you would have a certificate in hand.
