At this point only u knows what point u are trying to claim insisting Gabriel is an unnecessary buy when he's arguably been one of our best players this season.

As regards Ur question there's a reason why there's 2 different transfer window in a season. The management will look at where they feel the team is lacking and try to strengthen the squad in that department. Presently Arsenal is being linked with Julian Brandt of Dortmund who is an AM most people have been clamouring for, hopefully we get him or somebody better in that position.

If we have Partey back and fit we have more options in midfield just like we have more options in attack with the comeback of Martinelli. Slow and steady wins the reason.

Most of u think a team that has not qualified for champions league in 2 seasons straight will just from nowhere start challenging for the league while other teams are also not sleeping. It takes gradual process to weed useless players out and bring more quality players in.

You're even making my point. Point is, he been very OK that's past games alongside Mari. Why, not because Mari is so exceptional like Gabriel, but because the attack and midfield have improved considerably. That's the reason the "trashy" holding is even among those keeping clean sheets
