Professors in the house, please, come to my aid... The AVR of my generator(3.0KV) burns easily. I changed it last month and it burned yesterday again. My mechanic told me that it is the coil- that it need recoiling...He said the coil is weak already that is why it burns the avr easily...how true is this narrative, please? |

molybdenum0012:Your budget should be above 200k to achieve this, especially if the AC is not the inverter type. |
Re: Professor On Any Type Of Generator. by molybdenum0012: 1:17pm On Jan 01, 2021 |
Gptech: Okay. Without the AC, what's your recommendation? |
Re: Professor On Any Type Of Generator. by Gptech(m): 1:55pm On Jan 01, 2021 |
molybdenum0012:I think you'll need a 2-2.5kv generator and doubt if your budget can get a good one, things are really expensive now. Would recommend Tec bobo or Tec captain. |
Re: Professor On Any Type Of Generator. by molybdenum0012: 2:05pm On Jan 01, 2021 |
Gptech: So this specification will carry easily all the items I mentioned except AC? |
Re: Professor On Any Type Of Generator. by Gptech(m): 2:15pm On Jan 01, 2021 |
molybdenum0012:Yeah, very conveniently and there will be more room to carry other load. |

Re: Professor On Any Type Of Generator. by Akell(m): 9:57pm On Jan 02, 2021 |
molybdenum0012: One, your budget is way too low. Two, I'll recommend Elepaq Constant 150k max TEC would have been advised but it's more expensive and report has it that the noise no be here.

Hello, I want to sell my generator.. it's a year old now but rarely used. It's a FIRMAN rugged RD3910 3.1kva generator. Have never been serviced nor opened because it's rarely used. Everything still new and intact except the tank which lost colour due to sun because it's has been outside. Location is Enugu. Price is 90k. Quote me if interested Modified: I haven't cleaned the gen. It's actually looking better than this. The current price of this gen now is 160k plus.

Re: Professor On Any Type Of Generator. by Akell(m): 5:38pm On Jan 04, 2021 |
space9880: How? So a Tec opt 3500es of 3.0KVA can power an AC while a Constant of 4.2KVA can't? Tell me more. |

Base on advice I got here, I was thinking of getting a tech Bobo generator 2.5kva, after searching more than 10 stores, I only got it in one store for 123k or so. I decided to check more stores, but those guys told me thermool generator is not advicable 'cos their spare parts are hard to get if faulty. How true is this? I still wonder why most stores dont have it, like it is phasing out or something. |
Re: Professor On Any Type Of Generator. by Gptech(m): 6:15pm On Jan 04, 2021 |
molybdenum0012:You checked the wrong stores, only check Thermocool accredited stores. I think they don't sell to any store or dealer so as to combat counterfeits. That's the problem Firman/Sumec is facing currently, so many fakes available in the Nigerian market. Regarding spare parts, that's what you'll be told by those sellers of course so that they can sell what they have. You'll get whatever you need in thermocool repair centers, I think they are around you. Lastly, most of the parts you'll actually need are similar to what other generators use. Modified : I would rather get the captain instead of the Bobo at such price, don't even mind spending more. My reason is just for aesthetics. They have same ratings though. 3 Likes

Re: Professor On Any Type Of Generator. by Gptech(m): 6:49pm On Jan 04, 2021 |
molybdenum0012:Durability is same, the parts are similar too just the exteriors. Get this and have peace of mind. |
