Whatever you do, please don't think of going to that immigration office at festac to do your passport unless you don't want to use it this year,I will advice u to go to enugu or awka in Anambra state if you are in the Eastern part of Nigeria,as for the fee,you should keep between the range of 40-45k if you are interested in express service,go with some passport photograph,your own and that of your grantors own,your birthday cert.etc

I did mine last year for 30k at Ikoyi lagos and I got it within 3 weeks

there's an official price around 14k or so but then it'll take ages for the p.port to be processed.

And there's a backdoor option called instant passport. that one na like 30 something then don't know about now. You pay the bribe and they run it for and capture your pic same day.

You can either be a good Nigerian and go the first route or you be a better Nigerian and use the 2nd option.

You go sha need like utility bill receipts I think

When last did you obtain a passport? The 5-year validity passport is over 40k. The 10-year validity passport is more than 100k

If you're doing it officially, location doesn't matter since the form is filled on NIS website and you select where to pick up and also biometrics of its a new passport not renewal.

To my surprise, we met a connect there who is a mid-level immigration officer. He said all that's required is sworn court affidavit and 150k. This was like in 2017 ooo... But I still have his number cos I linked my sister who got married and changed her names. He actually did it for her in one day. Walking away from there, I was heavily under the impression that even without court affidavit, they'll be happier cos it'll be an excuse to charge more.
Bottom line: Nothing is impossible in this jungle called Nigeria. Just have the money and they'll change your complexion too on your passport!

There are also requirements you have to present before you will be considered.
Change of name due to marriage or divorce must be accompanied with your application and evidence of marriage and divorce.

Any other reason for change of details on your passport is must also be accompanied with an application in that regard and documents backing up your claim
Your application must state the reason why you are changing details on your passport
It could be spelling error, change of faith, family resolution, adoption and name rearrangement.

Whatever reason you are giving must be accompanied with a corresponding convincing document backing up your claim.


Also note that National Identity Number issued by NIMC is now a compulsory and added requirement for whatever reason that make you need an international passport

32pages 5 years is 27k officially
64pages 5 years is 37k officially
64pages 10 years is 72k officially
To do each you need your details to be one and the same with what is on your NIN else you can’t get a passport.
To make it a easy for yourself, try to pay online yourself which will cost you 25500 for the small 32 pages and 35700 for the big 5 years. Whiles the 64 pages ten years goes for 70500 online.
The prices I gave above are what you pay at the payment office called Newworks office in case of Abuja and to the payment guys should it be other states.
So draft a reissue letter as well as have a photocopy of your NIN slip with the payment attached of you intend to renew and take it to data processing center if in the Hq but if it’s fresh, download a form from Portal.immigration.gov.ng fill it and attach the NIN slip, birth cert, local govt identification and data page of your guarantor as well as his or her passport photo. The comptroller General doesn’t allow anyone to collect anything asides the above but if you give then, it’s your wish..

Yea, he said the same thing. Those are the formal requirements. At the end of the day, the guy I went with presented Sworn Court Affidavit and Newspaper publication, paid the 150k and got the passport in about 1 week. He changed his surname entirely, his former surname became middle name, and just combined his other names into one. But he got it done.
So, basically, the rules are there, but the backdoor is always there for everybody to get what they want.
