Haaa bros! You don't use onions to cook okro soup oh, the onions "cut" the slimy nature of the soup.
It actually makes okro soup more interesting to eat for me.

Have u not had egwusi soup with fresh tomatoes in it?
I ate one in one of Naija hotels( hotel presidential ph), all my family members, nobody could replicate that soup. I'm no fan of egwusi but if I see that soup, I will eat that everyday. Gosh. There was ginger in it. The rest of the ingredients I don't know. Recently, I noticed that's how some west African countries make egwusi.

Of course, I know about tomatoes in egusi soup which makes it go bad too quickly.

If you want to make egusi soup with an aroma that can wake a dead man, use spices.
Have you tried uziza seeds with cameroon pepper in egusi soup?

You know it!

I learnt it from a chef who cooks for Sheraton hotels, I quickly introduced it to our style of cooking, and we haven't looked back since then.

I like onions, but I can’t stand seeing it in SOUP. If you blend it, I’ll ignore. If I see am live...wahala.

Stir-fry noodles with a dash of soy sauce and oyster sauce.

Nothing compares to our local spices which is sometimes better than the ones that are in the market.

In the Spirit of Egusi soup discussion, I remembered I had a pot of Egusi I snapped sometime back, it was made with both fresh tomatoes and finished with Uziza leaf.

I bleached the palm oil to a certain level then added tomatoes, my mum usually adds onions first and Fry's till she can perceive it before adding any other thing, but I do not like onions, so I skip that part and go straight to the fresh tomatoes which I cook down before I continue with the Egusi soup process.

Hope you all had or are having a lovely day at work for those in Nigeria, and those outside hope your day is still going on well.

What's cracking y'all?

My Second food post!

I still be learner..

The pap turned out a bit lumpy
The fresh peppered omelette was to serve as an antidote to the sweetness of the plantain which without, would be harmful to my health.

Btw, where Akposy @ didn't expect not to see his post around. He enlivened this thread like crazy, with everything beautiful about food..
