Now majority of this Rich arewa guys can't stay oversee completely. They can go out and school there but to stay there, thier parents believe they might throw thier religion or become less religious since they are mixing with other people. Nobody to draw their attention back.

I remember one of my lecturer in school, this man studied in Malaysia and still came back to our school, presently now he's our assistant HOD. If I get the opportunity to leave Nigeria and school there, I won't come back in sooner time. I will make sure I have earn alot before coming to Nigeria to invest. Leaving there doesn't mean I have forsaken oversee no, I will still be in touch with them. I can't invest in an uncertain state alone unless it's not GOD WILL that's the only way I won't leave Nigeria.

You all got it all wrong. Northerners are homogeneous and family oriented in nature. We look forward to being with family both immediate and extended. We look forward to Sallah festivities, family events , the food , being with our community etc. And most of all, we believe in what God has destined for us. What will be, will be. Yes, Nigeria is a shithole country but the thought of moving abroad rarely would cross our mind. We rather manage, slug it out and make the best of things.
But there are exceptions, but at the end of the day , they would still end up in Nigeria.

Why not . Not all Nigerians are poor the way you reason it. I know very close friends they live here make vacations in Europe and US and return back for years now.

Nigerians should learn to respect decision made individually or privately. Migration is not for all. No matter the situation, some people are still making the best out of our worst situation.

Thanks dear, having lived in the North, when you see a female medical doctor, my dear no be from near poor family o, them rich die. These people never visited the kitchen, they would have married since 15years, with a maid, in an extremely beautiful house, with everything they would ever need, they will have cars and drivers to take them to university and back, all medical students are collecting salary, their tuition fee is free, after graduating, they don't suffer to look for any job, they have it already. I know many of them in medical school, specifically Usman danfodio, now tell me why they need to go to Canada?
They already had everything since teenage years, house, cars, marriage, and many things we aspire for as a youth. Ask their father the source of the income and you will see that many of them are just the brother to a governor, councillor, and are in various political offices.
The money that should have circulated the entire country is in the pocket of some people. These people do not struggle like the rest of us, the poor people in the North don't send their female children to schools, not to tall of studying medicine.

Like your reasoning. She had to apply for the opportunity... which means she had planned going abroad....then turned it down. I believe xProfx is on point ... she turned it down when she learned of the rigorous tests and regulations one has to go through to be able to practice as a doctor.
On opportunity to become a doctor abroad .... I believe it is on merit and has nothing to do whether the family is rich or poor. Money decides if you can take the opportunity or not.... money to migrate and cover expenses during the course.

We've brought over to the Uk several distant relations that live poorly (as poor as majority that live poorly in Nigeria) and they have not liked Britain at all. They all returned. One of them had the option of marrying someone in order to remain in Uk, she too declined and returned to Nigeria. Reading articles by Nigerians complaining of Nigeria and calling Nigeria hell and giving the impression that abroad is heaven, I sometimes wonder if I’m the only Nigerian whose relatives are totally uninterested in Abroad.

She's just looking for attention, and I'm sure she never had any chance to go to any abroad, most girls in the North that did medicine can never hope to travel abroad because there's no reason to. 1. They get paid in medical schools, 2. Tuition is free, 3. They are married since age 15
4. They have a house, personal car and drivers since age 15
5. They have a maid already, they have a house etc

Having lived in the North, poor people don't send their female children to school, only rich class can afford good private schools for their children in primary/secondary schools to pass waec and jamb. In public schools, they can't even speak English after graduation, are they the one that will study medicine?
