Previously, the minority voting bloc was not respected, there was so much voter apathy in our communities, but not anymore.
Big credit to grassroots volunteers who continue to work tirelessly in educating minority/ black communities on the importance of voting. We are seeing the fruits of their labor. This effort did not start today because I know and see first-hand volunteers who have been working hard to increase the orientation in our communities for a while now.
You are right. A lot of those are the faults of our people saying it makes no difference whom you voted for. I have a friend that died few months ago here in Chicago, he never voted in his life and I used to get on him and he will tell me it makes no difference. Shaquille O'Neal the Famous basketball player voted for the first time in his life and Eddie Murphy voted the first time in his life for Obama. Our people needs to start voting because if you don't vote, you don't count.

A 33yrs old smart and confident guy breaking ground and following the footsteps of Biden who was first elected senator at age 27yrs.

Young nigerians need to complain less but focus on getting involved in government.

All they know is how to spread conspiracy theories, believe baseless/ fake prophesies/ predictions like say na BetNaija.
They will come and tell you how Biden is the antichrist and Trump is the 2nd coming of John the Baptist.

Decades of voters suppression made it difficult for our communities to even yield to the efforts of these tireless volunteers.
A lot of states particularly Republican controlled States had stringent voters identification rules that made it nearly impossible for minorities to participate...
This pandemic exposed them and that is where the power of the mail in ballot came in.
The younger generation are smarter, they now appreciate the efforts of recognizable heroes in their own communities that work tirelessly to change the orientation.

You see that $2000 stimulus Mitch and some of his Republicans were working hard to deny millions of Americans? Well, who is going to have the last say now?
Let me reiterate, if Socialism means looking out for the poor especially tons of hardworking middle class Americans/ permanent residents that have lost their income and fallen into poverty because of a grossly mishandled pandemic, then, I am ALL for it!

No wiser words can be said. I have always leaned right during elections in the UK. This pandemic has really given me perspective. I look at the furlough scheme, business loans, grants, that have been given to ordinary hard working people, who normally would have lost decades of hard work, due to no fault of theirs, and I think.....where have I been?

So yes, if socialism means millions of British people get back on the feet quickly and feed the poor in these trying times, then so be it.

That's correct too. That's why the New Civil Rights Bill needs to be passed too. The more minorities that votes, the bad it is for Republikkkans.

With the way things are going on in Nigeria, I am surprised that there's no revolution in Nigeria. Been here now two weeks and it looks like things are getting worse than when I was here last year. I guess our people are just used to the system and leadership whacking them on the head for speaking out loud. I saw that Sowore was arrested few days ago in Abuja for trying to organize a non violent March and Nigerians are not standing up in droves to support him. Who loves living under a tyrannical leader who doesn't even know what is going on in his own country.

Stacey Abrams should either run for Governor in 2022, or should run for the DNC Chair.

She deserves either office!

My brother ,are you kidding me right now??.
I strongly disagree with you on this.l hope you know nigeria has a democratic government...who elected them??...the citizens of course.you can't use protest to demand for change or better governance....you do that through elections and majority of those protesting have no voters card even those that have see election day as a public holiday to unwind and play football on the street.
Am.used to nigeria environment alot and a country deserves the leaders they get.
Am involved in politics in nigeria and our youth attitude to politics is very abysmal.

So sad indeed. I think the poverty makes the politicians treat the citizens shabbily by seeking for votes giving them brown envelopes and little bags of rice. I just pray there'sa way to fight corruption in Nigeria because she will never grow with that level of corruption.
