Eeyah! This one is giving himself a pep talk.

The Nazis rose to power on the back of the promise to make Germany the predominant power in Europe. They didn't succeed with their direct confrontation, but they inflicted enough damage that their enemies offered whatever they needed so they never had a reason to go that extreme again. 70 years later, Germany is in fact the predominant power in Europe using the resources of their former enemies and the British Empire collapsed.

Today, the same Britain is running out of a Germany-controlled European Union. And France is threatening that if there are no reforms, they too will leave.

That's an extreme example, but that's the thing about deeply-rooted movements. Change MUST occur. It can be delayed, but it is inevitable.

Thinking American cities will hold the cards forever is the exact kind of arrogance the monarchies in Europe had until the American Revolution happened.

So yea, of course we'd take a victory lap over installing a neo-Tea Party President. Ask progressives what happened to the last President they installed-JFK. The next Tea Party President is coming, and I can assure you, he'd make Trump seem like Washington. Since e b say na only strong-hand dey make una get sense!

-Lord

Alhaji Lord. There is/was no such 'strategically crafted grass-root movement' or whatever you want to call this aberration. A combination of Dems fielding a disliked candidate and the extreme left staying out the election led to the unfortunate distraction called Trump.

And then his ability to distort reality on an unprecedented scale led millions to think he is some legitimate saviour. You are banking on all these factors playing out again. Grassroot my ass.

This is what you are not banking on. 'RINOs', the left coming together in solidarity, the moderates, the inspired younger voters, the new voters at the time, the hundreds of new Stacey Abrams, and the entrenchment of mail-in voting.

Keep drinking your kool-aid for a few more days.

Snoop Dog voted for the first time in his life. He said 'I can't stand another four years of this punk' cheesy
That's so true and I know a lot of people that are like that and you probably do too. I was a member of a group that registered newly minted 18 year olds and naturalized citizens and I personally heard some of them especially in the inner cities that their parents or Uncles or Auties never voted in life. Was shocked because less than 60% of Americans qualified to vote only participate in elections. That's so sad because if you don't vote, you deserve the government that you got. We all should be proud of our little contributions to the elimination of this heartless regime and we keep the pressure up on Biden and his team and the same pressure on the Congressional leadership in the Senate and the House.

That's what the the progressives said when they beheaded King Louis XVI. The monarchy was dead forever. After all, they had enough representation from people (third estate), the establishment aristocrats (first estate), and the priests (second estate).

Even the King made the same mistake. Thinking the Storming of Bastille was an isolated incident. Instead of him to go on temporary exile straight from Versailles, he moved directly to the Tuileries Palace in Paris, the stronghold of the progressives, hoping to reason with the zealots.

It cannot play out again they said. Well, the history books tell a different story.

The fact that you needed that type of coalition to remove someone like Trump during a pandemic and still not affect his standing with his base is instructive. But I'm not trying to convince you. Every superpower and its establishment cronies and proponents felt invisible/special until they weren't.

Stay in that beaker on a furnace telling yourself, it's only slightly warm, it used to be chilling cold. Everyone gets what coming to them eventually. The Greeks called it hubris.

You are better than that.

But maybe that's me projecting or expecting too much from you. That may in fact be your level. Meme banter!

Sorry, I don't roll in mud with p*gs. It's a new year. Got something intellectual to add, type it. Otherwise, zip it.

I can at least pity the neophytes who retort with the "it'd be different this time" arguments when faced with overwhelming evidence of the same trend happening time and time again over the last 5000 years since Sumeria coalesced into an empire.

The beauty of all of this is that we'd live long enough to watch it happen life. Even now in Taiwan, there are actual people thinking China will not eventually absorb Taiwan and eliminate democracy in the city state. That's how deep delusions can be.

I'm not I hibernation.Been busy with close of year and stuff like that.
I'm waiting for Pence to confirm Beijing Biden as the president elect later on today.
And Kamala Harris should have resigned her senate seat by now.Makes me wonder why. Her salary this month should be that of a Vice President. Looks like she wants the senator wages and not VP wages this month.Wonder why.

trump was the worst thing to happen to the Republican party, even lindsey graham prophesied it. In four years, the fool lost the House, the Presidency and then the Senate, over 350,000,000 people dead on his watch and millions out of jobs due to his lies and ego. The worst president in American history. Now that Democrats have total power, trump should thank his lucky stars he will survive 2021.

You nailed it. When he won the presidency in 2016, I said right here on Nairaland that Trump will drag down the Republican Party for at least one or two generations and here we are now . He's a vile and unrepentant racist and the stupid followers of his are following him to the sewage where they belong. How America gets to have him as a President is something historians have to explain in the future. He's a sad man who is not worth a City Councilman in any city in America. America will rise again.

Don't you wonder why she has not resigned?
I mean Joe Kamala has safely surpassed the 270 EC votes , has the house and the Senate So she should just resign unless she knows her senate vote is needed later on today.
Might be a long day today, Not sure why I suspect there might be twists and turns.

The best thing that happened to the Republican Party is Trump losing and losing these 2 Georgia seats, A Senate win plus Trump win would have been an endorsement for his type of politics and the next person will do worse

This will show that Trump and his ideology is not accepted to the majority in the country and will always lose in an election. Those who think they need Trump or Trumpist ideologies to win will take a cue from this

We can now start building the party back after Mike Pence gives Trump the middle finger today

First incumbent to massively increase his vote tally.
That's dragging the party down, It's already down and hundreds of thousands of his supporters are in DC from all states to Save the Republic.

Yes Sir, i want to believe they can. They should do less politics and really start changing things with money and human innovations. Now they don't have any excuse and no where to hide, and no moscow mitch to blame for hindering legislation being passed.

You are wrong on that Buddy, so many thousands young people became eligible to vote between the Nov 3rd election and the runoff yesterday. Another thing is that a lot of people who didn't vote before registered to vote when these two Republican slimes were taking pictures with welk kniw Grand Wizard of KKK plus Loeffler ridiculing Rev Warnock and Black Churches all over Georgia to telegraph to the Nazis and Klans in Georgia that she's on their side. Karma is a biiitch. Her own players at her WNBA all endorsed Rev Warnock because they know she's a vile racist.

That's true. We are going to hold the Democrats in the Senate and the House responsible for their deeds too. It's not about partisan politics but it is about good governance. Biden will be under the microscope too. When they do poorly, Americans of all shades and colors will call them out and I will do too right here on Nairaland.

It's so crazy to see trump cultists expecting Pence to reject the votes. Pence was with trump yesterday telling him, don, the con can't happen. The interesting part is trump cultists believe Pence will reject the votes because trump tweeted it, trump said it. I'm like, this man has lied over 20,000 times, are you crazy?
