I changed a few things and the results where kind of good.

1. I used quarters as the holding period - It seems quarters are moderately long but not too long that the strategy loses its effectiveness.

2. I implemented deviation from maximum value within the quarter as my screen - Choose one stock that closed on the last day of the period the lowest from that period maximum closing price. I assumed that by closing the farthest from its quarter high it would have bottomed out.

3. With a starting 1 mil account, the biggest loss was from UnityBank in 2015-Q3 (500K), the biggest gain was from DangoteFlour in 2016-Q1 (1.1M).

4. It also performed very well this year(Note that my data stops at 20th of November) with a profit of 79% (799K). Overall it averaged 47% annually.

5. It still requires a lot of testing as my program may have bugs that may have affected values.

grin grin grin wink

Happy New Year guys.

I said I was going to start trading the strategy with 1 mil and that is what I did.

The strategy spit out MANSARD and so I bought it, no question asked just a few searches on this thread and noting negative turned up.

I am up 12% already, let's see what happens between now and 3 months time. I might exit before then if it goes above 50% though. If it goes down I hold till march ending and count my losses.

@Mcy56 I owe u, and I always pay my debts.

Access Bank acquires Cavmont Bank. That means lower dividend for you people because money must come from somewhere. And Access still wants to buy Atlas Mara. What does Access really want?

.... Thanks for ur respond....

* How do i sell and make profit?
* How do I withdraw?
* Which broker is advisable to fund?
* how much is advisable to start with?
* how risky it's?
1. You watch your entry price and buy cheaper, when it appreciates, you sell.
You can also make profits by buying dividend paying stocks.
2. Open acct first, then withdrawal will be taking care of. Different brokers have different means of fund withdrawal.
3. Morgan Capital Securities
4. Depending on your purse and investment objective......maybe you want to go long term as investor or as a trader. You can actually be both.
5. There's no investment without its associated risks but can actually be minimized.

Welcome.

I don't use Trove or Chaka for Nigerian stock, only for US stocks

They are not brokers.

But UPDC REIT has been distributed to UPDC shareholders.
I didn't see anything for my tashere units o.
I've checked my CSCS acct, nothing there.

Is it First Registrars that's supposed to credit it or Afriprud ? First Registrar is handling UPDC while REIT is Afriprud.......hope I didn't mix it up sha.. smiley

I don’t understand why GTB is going down and Zenith is not following suit. This makes no sense to me at all (stocks should follow the market leader)
undecided

So do you suggest I keep Chaka for international stocks?

How do one know when new stocks are listed and those that are out of date but still appears on the dashboard, or does NSE makes announcement on new stocks? Thanks

Probably due to delisting and relisting as Holding company.

Just my opinion

Hello house. Please how do I go about activating the e-dividend thing for all my stocks, before e go reach dividend time and I start hearing stories. I learnt dividends will come mainly in March. Right?
I just want a stepwise process for activating
This question has been answered here times without number.

1. Visit this link to download various registrar's forms:
https://sec.gov.ng/public-notice-the-e-dividend-mandate-activation-forms-of-various-registrars-are-now-available-for-download/

2. Fill and submit via mail to each registrar or you take it to their office.

3. Afriprud and United Securities now have online E-dividend submission process. Google the link......though it's been posted here too.

4. You will need enough patience and perseverance to deal with some Registrars, they can frustrate someone but you have to endure to the end....e.g. Datamax.... grin

** Also, you needed to have some of the stocks in your portfolio for ease of processing....even if it's 10units first.

Fundamentally both should be selling at the same price, sentimentally they are not.

NSE and your broker will notify you about the status of stocks listed on the account exchange.

You keep Chaka for international stock and use registered brokers for Nigerian stocks.

Note that Chaka is not a broker in any country (international or local), they are just middlemen.

I don't quite have the volume I need. I wanted 1m units. I picked up a few at the #3.2 levels, hoping it would come down to the #3 or lower to complete mh target. Some people just jack up the price like play like play.
I picked up a few at #5.1 today, am very reluctant to raise my average above #4.
