The American public is the geographically most illiterate society on the planet, they have access to all the information necessary to make an appropriate research , to come up with a set of reasonable and justified beliefs and yet fails to do so.  Don't let them deceive you, about 32 million adults in the United States can't read, they can only speak English.  Many of them are dropouts, many Americans are ignorant of the basics of democracy in their country. You that you haven't leave this country, you know alot about their country than they do. When it comes to geography, many Americans are highly ignorant.  About 50% of them don't know many things outside America, they can't list 5 countries in the world, many can't even list 5 states in their country.  An Average American is ignorant. You wonder why Nigerians go there and come out with flying colours in Education.  Many of them are not smart that's why it so easy for Nigerian scammers to penetrate them.. Many things they showed in Hollywood movies about them are actually not true.

I have been saying the exact same thing for years. Their own ignorance is unenviable. My cousin who failed out of Nursing here in 2009 went there and topped his class in Johns Hopkins Medical school.
They are average people in a good system, we are top people in a terrible system.
Give me an American map and I'll show you at least 30 states, I know their pledge of allegiance, I can least all the presidents according since FDR, that's more than most Americans can.

You're right about that. A lot of them are ignorant and the blame has been on the failing education system and the general American lifestyle.
