Lion123: There are 2 broad ways of growing a business... The first is organic growth which is slower. The orga isation chooses to grow from within. Get on division right and then open another division... Zenith bank has chosen this path and is the master of it... The second is inorganic growth... This is growth by acquisition... Its faster but has a whole lot of disadvantages... You inherit the problems of the acquired company... Example is Access and Diamond bank... Their NPL went up crazily after the acquisition but so did their assets, customer base etc... Look at ETI and oceanic bank as well... They just wrote off all the goodwill in their assets incurred during the acquisition... Look also at their trouble with o&o and airtel shares... ETI might take a 22 billion naira hit if the court rules against them just because they acquired oceanic banks problems... Either way, Access has chosen to grow inorganically... They would have learnt from their diamond acquisition and might do better in future acquisitions... If you are interested in Access bank, I'll recommend you keep an eye on their goodwill assets as they acquire companies... Keep a close watch on their ROE and more importantly, ROIC... Any sustained decline in ROIC should signal that things are deteriorating... 7 Likes 1 Share |

bigjay01: Not bad at N5.00. N5 million worth will give you a dividend of 590k and another 400k ploughed back for further real estate Investment. I doubt if a house of N5 million will give you a rental income of 590k. Custodian Investment is accumulating the shares on the floor 1 Like |

RoadAnimations: You can not buy or sell shares with CSCS online. You can only view your portfolio. CSCS portfolio are up to date than broker's portfolio. Most times broker's won't update your portfolio, unless you inform them. To save cost I always request for my CSCS statement from my broker. 1 Like |

nna777:Japaul just dey vex ..........80M+ full bid................. You may be right. Many people, maybe including Peter rushed out at 30/40kobo.........making the stock somehow scarce...or maybe Jegede is already pushing the price so as to come to market............my opinion too. You know, the driver returned back to car park from 33kobo bus-stop the last trip before now,, so guys would have thought its same trip again...... Market is generally looking up....... FCMB :27.4Mbids against 6M offers as at now.......... FIDELITY: Declared bonanza earlier ...........sold down to 2.35 and bounced back almost immediately, currently trading at 2.58 SEPLAT : Commenced its journey to N500 some three days ago.............only deep pockets can move these ones......... FTNCOCOA: Full bid............. @66kobo 1 Like |

PETERiCHY:Day light robbery.........For newbies this is one reason everybody keeps screaming read from page1 so that you can understand what u are investing in For the govt to create this decree to have access to this funds means the funds must be humongous..... I'm surprised well meaning Nigerians are not voicing up to this.........There was a time marketers filled the whole of Lagos streets begging even fish sellers to buy shares now see the result....... I also think GTL registrars in Lagos knows about this and might be sitting on the highest numbers of unclaimed dividends I believe GTL registrars want to frustrate many away from their rightful dividend claim 1 Like |

ACCESS: All those talks and discussions about the coy buying this and that, as for me, I dont even want to worry about that again. The've proved us wrong about their previous purchases. We thought it will affect the coy's profitability and dividend payment.................but they proved us wrong...... So as for Mcy, its simply expansion so far............getting set for Mega positioning............. I may be very wrong though....... Strictly my opinion. 1 Like |
