Call your bank and ask if they accept money through xoom. I am very sure of first bank receiving money from there. And guess what? You will get paid in Dollars then you do the exchange by yourself with the best exchange rate of your choice unlike before when banks use 380/$ as their rate. Now you can change your money for almost 500/$. Go ahead and call your bank to confirm if they accept from xoom

By creating accounts based in other countries' PayPal. There's a risk of being limited and getting money trapped though if the money sent is significant.
I could have offered to receive on your behalf and pay you in Naira if trust wasn't an issue and if I was sure of the source and no chargebacks.

You don't need to go to your bank. Just go to any of these banks; First Bank, Ecobank, Skye Bank, Access Bank, Union Bank, Fidelity Bank or Unity Bank, during business hours with the tracking number and your BVN number to get paid in dollars. You don't need to have an account with the bank either.
