I got mine after 2 years.

That's how lazy those nimc clowns are.

The cards I saw at the abuja office, i suspect majority are expired, just to send a text for owners to pick up their cards, dem dey form activity.

I registered August 2014 and they called me August 2015. It expired December 2019. But, my NIN is still useful till date.

I think they usually send an SMS, so when you get SMS notification that it is ready then you can go get it. I've not gotten mine too

You don't need the card. Just your NIN is sufficient.

You can as well download the NIMC app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nimcmobile) that can display the card if you want.

I registered for mine early 2013 and I received their message to come and collect the card in 2017. That's 4 years later.

It took me about 4 years to get it here in Ikorodu Lagos. The annoying thing is that it will expire in 2 years! undecided

I am still wondering why they added expiry date to the card. How can my being a Nigerian expire? Clowns � grin

I registered and completed the process for National ID Card with NIMC since 2014, that is about 6 Years ago.

I am yet to get it. I have gone to there office severally they kept saying its not ready.

What is really causing the much delay?

Please if you work in NIMC your explanation might be off help here.

It must ve expired by now since one has to validate it after 5 yrs..So be ready to do another one and nairalanders will contribute money for you so will bribe the officials b4 you will get it sharp sharp.

I did mine since 2014 and yet no physical card. Tried getting the NIN slip after the one I got issued with got misplaced but have been unsuccessful. I have downloaded the NIMC app to get the virtual ID card but can't get past the OTP stage. Has anyone gotten the virtual ID card yet?

It's now a digital identity card with barcode reader.. The NIMC released an app recently for this that shows the digital copy of your ID card as it should be when printed... Bt the issue now is no means of printing it hence using it for verification on international portal isn't possible...

You get something like this once you are able to login to the app

I registered in August 2013, I got it in January 2020....but the card was ready in December 2019.
Don't stress yourself going to their office. When it's available for pickup, they will send you an SMS to come for it in a bank or somewhere else not necessarily their office.

You can't do it and get it at thesame day some good places that want to issue NIN after registeration give minimum of 7 Days or two weeks while others will take by the grace of God.

You guys always show only the front page of this ID card does it means that the back is completely plain without anything on it
