Lokoja is a good place to be, just that it lacks good and visionary leader. The city owning to its small size and beautiful terrain should be one of the most developed and beautiful cities in Nigeria. But the reverse is the case, their government is heartless while the people too are not helping things. Things are super expensive (from the view of someone who is based in Ibadan, Oshogbo and some places where prices of goods are reasonably cheap or moderate. One question I couldn't stop asking myself through out my one year stay in Lokoja is how can FISH be expensive in Lokoja (fish o) and be cheap in Ibadan. All said, Lokoja is very peaceful. No violence no trouble, no fight.. It is just a very peaceful place. In fact, I hardly locked my door both at night and in the day and the thought that someone would sneak in to arm me or steal from me never crossed my mind. And someone said there is nothing "North" about Lokoja. I agree with this absolutely. I believe Lokoja is more closer to the South (South East, Southwest, South-south) in culture, language than it is to the North. When you're in Lokoja, nothing, except the sun, tells you you're in the North 2 Likes |

Lokoja is almost the worst city in the country, it's only investment is possibly the visitors transiting it to abuja (Not to serve offensive lokoja is the nations biggest public toilet because every passengers would alight to drop their poop or piss before leaving) Jos can not be qualified as arrewa, northerners there are settlers Benue cannot be called Arrewa Kano-Kaduna are the only core Arewa states that have largely spoon feed by successive government in Abuja who always map out these two states first in what ever freebies or handout to be given out. (yet you can't even go from Abuja to kaduna by road, even if you use flight you can't have a peaceful stay without bandits and insecurity) 3 Likes |

GamalNasser:lol, majority only option to abuja remains road and trust me that going through kogi is as scary as going through Abuja kaduna road |

vanbonattel: No freaking bragging, northern Nigeria has developed a MILLION TIMES more than the south through creation of 19 states in the northern region by northern soldiers. Abuja is also in the north. Southern Nigerians are yet to understand the bee that stung them through state creation. Freaking bragging southerners.

Arewa247:I don't know how u made front page. Because your post is obviously shallow and u didn't put enough research into it. Worst, it is misleading, especially were you said Kano was named after Aminu Kano. And three out of the cities you mentioned are not northern states. So your motives too is questionable 4 Likes |

Dear Arrewa, I like the fact that u are trying to market the North. But rating MAKURDI and LOKOJA ahead of LAFIA to me makes no brain. Lafia is a beautiful city in times of development and tourism. 1 Like |

DannyG8:Kano and other core northern states are bigger due to the irregularities poised by the colonial masters....So instead of wondering what's gonna happen if the good people of Igbo are willingly or unlawfully driven out of any land outside the Eastern Nigeria, I guess you should be more worried of the fate of the people and not the Igbos, I have been to the North, West and South and I can categorically inform you all zones need eachother for one thing or the other..... |
