cixak95211: lol. I have been doing vue.js for about a week now and to be honest, I have not seeing what vue.js can do that I cannot achieve with vanilla JavaScript or jQuery. infact, jQuery gives me better animation than Vue(maybe there is more to Vue animation than what I am currently seeing) . I prefer doing stuffs with vanilla js because it gives me more flexibility though I have to write more code |

explorer250: Sooo true. I once read somewhere that 80% of websites out there running on React and Vue and Angular could have necessarily been written in vanilla JS or jQuery; and don't necessarily have to use those Frameworks. And still maintain the same performance and looks. And only 20% were actually complex enough to have justified the use of the aforementioned frameworks. Take that to the bank! |

cixak95211: I am planning to release a free personal project with lots of features (a forum) on GitHub. my problem is that I want to do the frontend in Vue but having difficulties implementing those features. meanwhile, I can easily achieve those features with vanilla JavaScript or jQuery. |

cixak95211: Those things are really very easy to learn. I was doing leetcode and hackkerank last year like 8 hours a day when I was looking for my first job. That was after I read grokking algorithms. I recommend that book for anyone that wants to get into DSA. I stopped sadly as there are very few jobs here that test a developer like that and even the ones that do test pay rubbish salaries. You can't go and copy the hardest problems on leetcode and come and offer 100k salary na. I would continue once I have escaped from the African continent. If I know that DSA can get me into a job that is going to pay 350k USD upwards a year and I am in the environment to get such a job then I can dedicate six months to studying it and solving as many questions as I can. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

explorer250: You actually have not learnt Vue enough, that's why. Like I said earlier, altho we can implement the same thing using vanilla languages, frameworks were meant to simplify things and make us iterate faster. |

tensazangetsu20: If truly you were on that path. I see no reason why you stopped. When you could easily get jobs as a remote dev. Or IT support specialist at Amazon or even Github. CrossOver pays up to 100k, i know people there . .and that's just an example , But many have complained about the work-life balance. There's TopTal as a very popular one. Even Google will not pay you 350k, even a Principal Software Engineer wont make that. You gotta be VP of Engineering at least. But then how do you become one of those, you still gotta start from E3 to rake up the years and experience. You are looking at 12 years of field experience. Secondly those things are not easy to learn . You were perhaps cramming which is what everybody that didn't go through the 4-year curriculum does, especially if they have an interview. You've spent time on Hackerrank but I'm every sure if I ask you to whiteboard some everyday algorithms over a live video call, you'll goof. I stand corrected to be proven otherwise though. Once again, hackerrank and others will at most get you E3 level aka Entry level Cheers. 2 Likes |

cixak95211: yeah. I am just one week into it. but there is just this urge to get my stuff done without vue.js. Why do I have to install a package to make a post request on Vue? something I can easily do with jQuery or vanilla. I just haven't seen the value yet but hopefully I will get there one day |

cixak95211:I thought 350k USD is what Facebook and Google pays to starting developers in silicon valley. Clement the founder of algo expert mentioned this because he worked at Google and Facebook before he left to work on algoexpert. He learnt to code in 2016 from a bootcamp in New York. Honestly if I lived in an environment like the USA I don't mind dedicating the six months to really learn DSA because the high paying jobs are all there and the standards to get them remain the same. Most of the algorithm questions start to follow a similar pattern once you can solve a lot. It's all about recognising the pattern and applying the right algorithm to solve the problem. 2 Likes |
