Mai Fara (Locust seller) almost sent me to my ancestors some years ago. Wanted to taste the crisply garnished locust but ended up in pharmacy shop for strong stomachache ...maybe its the chemicals used to catch them or preserve them......I nearly die of poison.

Anytime I see Mai Fara......I no de para but to japa.....!!

I don't think the seller meant 20k - 30k profit daily. He is probably referring to daily sales not profit

When I was in the north,

I enjoyed eating grasshopper too much.

When they are fried and mixed with spices and pepper, and I used it to drink garri, nothing can be compared to it.

Not that I was poor or that I didn't have food to eat.

I ate grasshopper and drink garri because I wanted to taste different types of food.

Just like I ate tuwon dawa, tuwo shinkafa and etc while in Sokoto.

Just like I drank fura da nono while in Kano.

So it doesn't have anything to do with poverty.

It has to do with living with other tribes and liking their food and culture.

Leave people with what they eat. What one eat is part of culture. Some don't eat but others do. It doesn't make better or inferior

It's delicious when fried and it doesn't smell like the fresh ones. I have never met any Ekiti person that eats it. They hate grasshoppers, and have it in abundance.

Variety is the spice of life. You don't need to come from the Amazon to eat this, just like you don't have to be a Fulani to eat beef.

U get sense, com even get reservoir join.

It is called DESERT SHRIMP in Maiduguri. Same as eating snail, octopus, snake even worms etc. Give it a try and you'll be glad you did.

If u make money from a new business never ever let ur profits or business secrets public.

You will attract competition and tax attention to yourself.

Alot of people reduce their networth sometimes for this, government doesn't know how to tax u sometimes they tax u based on assumptions of the profit they think u are making
