I have read that the efiks are a subset of the Ibibios. Furthermore, Uruan plays a role when a chief is about to be crowned in efik-land. Irrespective, can we just get along instead of fanning the embers of tribal superiority? 1 Like |

DissTroy: If you claim that the Ekpe cult is of Ibiono Ibom origin can you kindly mention how many Ekpe grades the Efe Ekpe ( if any ) at Ibiono Ibom they have and whom they were purchased from? The only Ekpe lodge in Akwa Ibom is at Ekpe Efe Ekomo at Uyo, at Itu and at Oron. This can be confirmed from the recent UNESCO field work study into the curation of the Ekpe institution in the Cross River region and Cameroon. The Efiks are much fewer in number than the Ibibio’s ( by even a ratio of 1:12) but by fortitude of their location by the River side came into contact with the British traders/Supercargoes who established trading relationships with the Efik chiefs during the slave trade era. Most of the slaves taken away were Ibibio’s and Igbo’s (and Efik indigenes who were being punished). As a result of the trading relationship the Efik culture and language became the dominant language in the area. The orthography for Efik language was written in 1876. The orthography for Ibibio was written in 1982 by Prof Okon Esien. Until now in Akwa Ibom the Bible being used in churches there is the Efik Bible. Even Prophesy in Akwa Ibom churches is done in Efik language. This is the result of long lasting influence of cultural assimilation of the Efik by the Ibibio’s. Can you kindly mention one single cultural and historical influence Ibibio’s have on the Efik? You copied and assimilated our Efik names, dance, wedding costumes, food and language. Historically, what is the oldest secondary school or hospital or building in Akwa Ibom State? When did you start having Christian churches in Akwa Ibom? You mentioned Gov Clement Isong, he’s got nothing to do with the discussion. I’m sure you were not old enough to see him or even Gov U.J.Esuene. Ibibio's are much more in numerical strength than the Efik, that had always been the case since the first general election in Nigeria in 1923 when they were only 4 Federal Legislative Seats in Nigeria. 3 Seats were allocated to Lagos and 1 was given to Calabar under the 1922 Cliffords constitution. Let’s move on and not distort history or try to claim ethnic superiority over each other. If you are in doubt read up on history books by E.U.Aye, Rev Hugh Goldie, Dr K.K. Nair, A.T.H. Latham, Percy Talbot, Prof Monday Noah, Prof Abasiattai, Prof Okon Uya, Prof Afigbo, et al 1 Like |

LondonCool:I didn't know u Efik people have such a wrong view of things. U were neither born in those days as I but I'll assure u that efik had its prestige in Calabar being a Colonial town and a port town. as for culture and traditions, the ibibio is far more overwhelming as it includes even u Efik and other sub groups even to the arochukwu I'm abia state. u cannot compare a small sub group to a larger subgroup of influences. don't be tied to write view. history teaches us to admit d obvious. anyway wat u need is to develop Calabar else it keeps dwindling into Oblivion. |

LondonCool: Let me go bottom up, Is it Prof. Okon Uya that gave a public apology to the Ibibios about his fallacious and unprofessional works you dare recommend to who? You should have added E N Amaku and his useless books too. In his book " Mission to Calabar ", Rev. Goldie vividly describe who the people that called themselves Efik who they are. Randy L Sparks in " The two prince of Calabar", sheds more light I will recommend you read books like that on others and not the above names you mentioned. How does the Bible transmission into Efik aid the assimilation? I wonder how you lot reason, even the the Urauan and the Oku iboku stock of the early settlers that settled into what is now called Efiks took with with them the oral tradition of where they came out from, is it the merchants ways of life from Bristol, Liverpool that has eroded you present lots that has influence the CORE mainland. Do you see us answering Ironbar, Hogan, Yellow Duke? How many people can read the Bible if they aren't taught on how to read in Efik instead of their native tongue People that lives in the creek are now the once that influenced the ones that plants food on land? You taught em how to dance, names cook and their ways of life. The Uraun marriage rite is now your custom? What insolence where in anywhere is the Obong of Calabar revered in Ibibios soil and rivers? QUA IBOE church founded and rooted on this soil, despite your childish "first this, first that" talk, name me one Christian church solely dedicated to Calabar or has it roots in Calabar? I won't go further on any first rubbish! On Slaves trade, let me refresh that brain of yours"......from Rev. Hugh Goldie"..... This compulsory migration seems to have occurred in the seventeenth or more probably in the beginning of the eighteenth century. They obtained land from the Qua, the Okoyong, and the Ibibio tribes on which to form their settlements. They report that their fathers, when they came down the river, found ships carry- ing on the slave trade, and, locating themselves nearer to the coast, they shut off those behind them from com- munication. with the European shipping"....So, is it those that already knew the trade they now traded on? And if you care to read the other book, you will know Princes, Wives of Chiefs can be slaves and Slaves can be king. Like King Eyo Honesty who was an Ettebom( head of Canoes) As for the AROs, they are Ibos and Ibibio mixtures who usurped their Ibibio chief The leopard cult society is not a standardized practice in the entire region, it varies from clans to clans, there is no CENTRAL leader. In AkwaIbom, from time immemorial Uyo is a child play to the Old Itu division which Ibiono Ibom and Itu makes up, no UNESCO recognition will take that from our history like you present mixtures of so called Efiks do as a signature to your lost heritage. There is no supremacy battle here, but a subset can NEVER influence the SET |

nsiba: Will you shut up your mouth! Yes some Efiks migrated to Ghana as well, so what? But it is inferiority complex and thorough brainwashing you received from your white slavemasters that makes it hard for you to believe that the people of the book were actually black people and not whites. The land you call ISREAL today is fake. Even the name is fake (ISRAEL = ISIS, RA and EL) alluding to pagan deities. The people there are decendants of EDOM who mixed with alien blood, hence their leprous color. They are not bloodline decendants of YAKUBI who are the Bantus/Negroes below the Sarah-Haran (Sahara) desert. Now you can take your sorry bewitched arse back to where you crawled out from. 2 Likes 1 Share

[s] nsiba:[/s] The Israelites have been in captivity obviously more times than your watery brain can analyse. From Egypt, to Assyria, to Babylon to Persia, to Greece, to Rome, to Europe (France, Spain, Portugal etc) to United States and even via colonialism and neo-colonialism. Ancient Egyptians, Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians were black Africans. Israelites were held captive in the region today known as the Sahel, stretching from South Sudan to Mali. The Greek and Roman captivities took place from East to Southern Africa. The Israelites who Conquered Spain and Portugal (in the year 711) along with the MOORS were Bantus who migrated from the continent that is today called Africa. They were later expelled by King John III in 1492 to the West coast of Africa during the Inquisition. The whole bible took place in what is today called Africa, something your black idiotic mind finds hard to phatom.

donnie:. Maggot infested brain of the highest order, so Moors who are Muslims worked side by with Jews to ransack Spain and Portugal, then in 1492 this so called Moors and Bantus later got expelled back to their origin by the people they lord over while already my ancestors have been in the West Coast long before your 1492 mad man Calendar date. Then the so called Portuguese after expelling them, still came down to trade with them both in materials and slaves? Are you sure you ain't supposed to be locked up in an ASSYLUM, you irredeemable lunatic... So in 1492 you think the Ibibios, Binis, Yorubas and others haven't been living in their present abode long before then? The blackness of your brain can kill an elephant, you are beyond USELESS The whole bible event not only took place in Africa, but inside your fathers bedroom..... |

Re: How Carnival, Efik Calabar Culture Was Transported To Caribbean by donnie(m): 11:16am On Jan 10, 2021 |
[s] nsiba:[/s] The idiot in you will not allow you to see that not every single Bantu left the continent. Bantu migrants left North Africa and migrated into Spain and Portugal through Morocco. The buffoon that you are cannot see that it was The Moors/Arabs and Fulanis who later sold Bantus/Negroes/ISOLELE for slaves, first during the Arab slave trade and later during the transatlantic slave trade. They came on horses and kidnapped our people in the forests and sold to the portugese at the shores. The Portuguese knew exactly who they took for slaves because they put the children of YAHUNDE (JUDAH) there. They knew they were taking JUDAH into captivity. At this time also, there were already ISOLELE (Isrealites) of the Northern kingdom in West Africa as well and also of the Southern Kingdom from Nigeria/Cameroon boarder to KONGO and down to southern Africa.

donnie, So the expelled Bantus that taught the Spanish/Portuguese civilization and how to brush there teeth according to your Lunacy theorem, underestimated their students who later came to expelled them? What time did the Portuguese put the YA HUNDE( God help me with this lunacy names of yours) there? What happened to the expelled inquisition Bantus that was expelled to the West Coast of Africa and the ISOLELE in Nigeria down to Congo, what brought them to where your lunacy theorem say they were? |
Re: How Carnival, Efik Calabar Culture Was Transported To Caribbean by donnie(m): 5:50pm On Jan 10, 2021 |
nsiba: The bolded is exactly what happened. We are naturally a kind people. We let those white devils into our culture, our worship, our military etc. And we also accepted their pagan customs and traditions resulting in judgement from YAH. The INQUISITION began with an edict from the pope, and a decree to forcefully convert all Bantus (Isrealites) to Christianity. They had the option of conversion, slavery or death. Children were seperated from their parents and forcefully baptised. This played into the 1500s and even 1600s, even up till this day. The slave trade was a direct result, and accompanied by the Pope's blessing. Even colonialism and neo-colonialism are the result of this movement to overturn and destroy every trace of black dominion, civilization or history. They began rewriting the scriptures, and history. Even art works were changed with the RENNEISANCE. It's at this point (1500s) that white Jesus and white ISRAEL were cooked up. The people of the book had always been known to be black. The entire bible story happened in Africa. There are several lost cities and kingdoms buried under dust in the Sarah-Haran (Sahara) desert which is actually the TRUE region of Mesopotamia. There are government restructions in certain locations of Southern Africa, including the location of the ancient city and temple of Jerusalem. Edomites (white people) have refused to let go of the region. Paintings and artwork in Egypt and Ethiopia where Christianity began show MESSIAH as a black man. Ancient history books and maps support the truth about black domination and rulership of this world. But unfortunately, we still have black devils like you who relish in idiocy and the lies, witchcraft and confusion of white man. So I am not trying to encourage your stupidity. I only reply because I know many are reading and learning their TRUE history. |
Re: How Carnival, Efik Calabar Culture Was Transported To Caribbean by nsiba: 7:55pm On Jan 10, 2021 |
donnie:. Wonderful! ** As the Inquisition was going on in Spain/Portugal so the entire Europe ( England, France, Germany etc) were all busy re- writing history 1492 and at the same time sending down missionaries down here teaching us Jesus is White? So the Protestant Churches that broked away from the Catholic church all came together to deceive Africa? So before 1500 black Jesus wasnt cooked up? When did the Lutheran Church break away from the Catholic fold? When did Anglican, Presbyterian and others broke out, were they teaching BLACK JESUS? What manner of LUNACY run inside that maggot brain of yours |

[s] nsiba:[/s] It's a global conspiracy dummy. Not against Africa but against the children of ISOLELE (Isreal) below the Sarah-Haran (Sahara) desert. Psalms 83:2-8 [2]For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head. [3]They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones. [4]They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance. [5]For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee: [6]The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes; [7]Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre; [8]Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.
