A friend of mine who’s an engineer went up north for a building work and was returning with this Toyota hiace bus along with 2 of his workers and he told me that while passing somewhere in Adamawa state their bus was stopped by immigration officers who demanded they all come down and show their ID’s.

He couldn’t hold his surprise when he noticed that out of the 18 passengers on board it was just him and his two colleagues who had valid sources of identification. The rest were apparent northerners who couldn’t even speak English and didn’t even have phones talk more of ID cards.

After bribing the immigration guys they were all told to enter the bus and continue their journey to the south.

Now let’s do some maths :

One hummer bus passed with 15 apparent immigrants. If 100 passes in a day that’s 1,500 immigrants. (Just for hiace only oh)

What of Sienna? Commuter? Private? Etc all carrying their own various amounts of immigrants?

I project at least 10,000 immigrants coming soy that per day from one particular route from the north in Nigeria today. And this is very worrying.
I hope this NIN and SIM palava isn’t a ploy to grant them automatic citizenship via one mago-mago way or another

Are you talking about foreigners or northerners? How can you be immigrants in your own country if you were referring to Northerners? As there are many people in the north without id cards, there are also many people in the south without id cards

So the company should keep changing their official lines and rebranding just because of inconsequential NIN?

Those contact numbers worth more than thousands to the organization.

I think key official numbers be linked to NIN of the owner(s), and government should identify
such numbers so that when a crime is committed using the lines, it becomes the company's responsibility. And usually the staff who commits the crime can be easily tracked using his or her other number

If you are using a company line it must be linked with the NIN.....we have all been asked to link the sim given to us.....when resigning you are meant to drop the company's sim given to you....I guess it will be deactivated by the network provider and your NIN might be deactivated from the sim

We have corrupted leaders handling and communicating the need for Nin to be linked to our sims . However, the so called Nin registration baffles me when I see numbers of citizens suffering under the scorching sun of nowadays and yet no Nin is granted at the end . A lot of individuals both old and young left their means of survival for the so called Nin registration but weeks after weeks nothing was granted. To my very own understanding as a citizen of the nation, I don’t think this linking of NIN will work out in this very country when we have series of northerners who doesn’t even have a valid Identity talkless of NIN. As time goes on we live to see where it all ends .

Well that's wrong boss. The only thing a company is authorised to do is to get you a mobile device for your own lines. Companies should stick to the regular rules cos it makes no real difference. Landlines are used for company offices and their staff mobile numbers can be used.
