Hello Everyone,
I just thought I should post this in case anyone needs the information.

After getting my PPR in October 2020, I did not get any response from IRCC regarding my children's application. I sent emails to all the email addresses posted on this forum. But I kept getting generic responses.

I got to know I needed written authorization for my kids. I sent an email requesting for written authorization and expedition of their visas.

This is the email:
IRCC.COVID-TravelExemptions-Exemptionsdevoyage-COVID.IRCC@cic.gc.ca

This email is for those who need written authorization for travel exemption This doesn't apply to those with study visa.

The following day, I got their PPR. In about a week, I got their written authorization.

For those who want to apply for kids and spouses during this pandemic or are yet to receive the visas for their immediate family members. Read this webpage:

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/visitors/visa.html

If there is anyone who has travelled to Canada with their kids, can you please share your experience? Thank you.

Wow... Thanks for this. I haven't gotten my ppr yet (Sept application) I hope this is not the delay? I applied with my 2 children. All medicals passed.

Thanks again for this update. Let me go read the link thoroughly

Good evening everyone,

I have a question. Is it possible to change course immediately after arriving Canada but in the same school? That's before registering for a course.

Hello Admin9,

Very possible but however, you have to speak with your course advisor and/or international admissions office.

I applied for visa since September. I didn't use the NSE route though. I've done biometrics yet I've not heard from the visa office since then. My school have resumed lectures.

Please guys, what should I do in this situation. I'm just confused

First and foremost, i would like to congratulate you on your acceptance into a designated learning institution in Canada. Secondly, there are lots of drawbacks associated with applying with your entire family as most often, visa officers have this notion that such applicant is using study permit as a means to relocate with the family to Canada rather than educational advancement. In view of this submission, I will prefer you apply alone and upon the successful assessment (approval) of your application, you can apply for your child and spouse to accompany you to Canada. With this info on file, it will be much more easier to convince the visa officer that you're a bonafide student and would return to your family (spouse and kid) after studies. On second thought, if you're financially buoyant crowned with adequate ties (landed properties, buildings, investments in the bank etc), you can apply with your family. I can hardly count the number of successful applicants I know who filed for a family application and were approved of their visas. Conclusively, i will advice you utilize the NSE program when applying for your visa.

It will end in praise

Please can you throw more light on this (the bolded)?

Would the application be a Visiting Visa or a WP for a spouse?

In my own case my husband will not be travelling with us . . . so if he applies for an open work permit and ends up living outside Canada, will that be a problem?

Also, I have 3 kids who are US Citizens, can I travel with some of them for now, and then apply for my spouse and my child with a Nigerian Passport when I get there? Will I have a problem at the border, since I already said I won't be travelling with them in my application??

Also, can I apply for them NOW that my Visa has been approved and I have started classes online, but still in Nigeria? Or do I have to be physically in Canada before I can apply for them?

Aplogies for the 'plenty' questions! embarassed wink

Good morning everyone, please i have got a question that needs experienced answers. I would like to know which is better or easier between British council ielts or mod ielts. I am about to pay for one to reserve my sit for the test this week. Just need an experienced answer so as to know the one to go for, and pay for. I need to make the payment for one this morning. Thank you all, for your swift response.

Hello Adetunji001,

In my opinion, both are the same. However, most people claim that IDP/MOD can be sometimes lenient with their marks.

Hi all, please I need help on how to proceed application for my family members.

I have 4 kids, 3 have American passports and so do not need Visa to Canada.

I have already resumed lectures online. Do I still need to get to Canada before I can apply for my husband (and child that is not a US citizen?), or can I apply now while still in Nigeria?

Also, I plan to travel soon with my last two children, since they don't need a Visa. Will that be a problem, since I already said they won't be travelling with me?

Hello Letskeeptalking,

Both of them must have a valid status to facility entry so they need to apply for a visa. Since your application has been finalized and approved, you can apply for them outside Canada. To support their application, you may want to request for your transcript from your school in Canada.

Whether or not you stated that your kids who are American citizens were not accompanying you in your application, you can still travel with them. Its part of human nature to recognize changes. Depsite them not needing visa to travel to Canada, it still boils to the discretion of the CBSA officer to grant them entry. This shouldn't be a problem though as few people who were in same situation as you are now in Canada.

P.S: Ensure to send IRCC the "Authorization to Travel" email for your accompanying dependents and wait till its approved before flying."

Hello Lambsbread,

If you've sent couple of warm reminders via emails and/or webforms to IRCC, I doubt if there is much you can do at this time other than requesting for your GCMS Notes.

Hello Letskeeptalking,

I will just add to my already shared thoughts of my previous response to your post.

I believe what he meant is that putting in a family application may drastically reduce the visa approval chances of the PA. This isn't far from the truth. However, your case is different as you've been approved and already commenced studying.

Your spouse application should be SOWP and the VV for your child.

Hello gurus in the house,

I have submitted my application and even started working on the NSE request that was sent to me.

However, I just found out that my sponsor has two plots of lands that she bought about five years ago but she only has receipts and they sum up to #400,000 only.

Can I raise a webform for this receipt? Does it not sound like a small amount?

If I can attach it, how do I go about explaining it as a strong financial aid

Looking forward to your responses.

But Canada university are not tuition free. And you still have to pay for Visa and all that thereby compounding expenses.

Do you know how much on the average one is expected to use for getting to Germany vs that of Canada? Visa, School fees and all(just on the average, I know each school have differing tuition fees)?

I just want to compare both countries based on cost and make my decision, because I kind of like the free education Germany offers.

Also, from what I seeing here, procurement of Canada visa seems stressful, too many protocols for the Education route vs Germany that the university doesn't require much for Masters.

Hello Sir.

Do you know that for the past 1 year or more, it's been really difficult to get an Appointment Date for an Interview?

Go checkout the Germany Visa Thread on Nairaland and confirm for yourself.

Cheers grin

Hi Guys... @Frankrobbn1 @justwise (Good morning gurus in the house sirs and madams)
Please, Please, I need your help.
I was just sent a refusal mail today for spousal open work permit with 2 kids (study permit).

This is the mail

Thank you for your interest in working in Canada. After careful review of your work permit application and supporting documentation under the International Mobility Program, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds:

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 200(1) of the IRPR, based on your travel history.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 200(1) of the IRPR, based on your immigration status.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 200(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 200(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.

You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be accompanied by a new processing fee.

I want write a new SOP and respond to their concern and reapply immediately (tomorrow)
What do you think? Am I too fast?

So counterfoil was updated on my profile today. Also got the mail below from VFS. So next thing is go get LOI.
Eligibility was updated as completed with today's date.
Hopefully, the passport comes tomorrow & LOI alongside.
Dear xyz,erere
The decision envelope for your application, tracking ID No. wrwxcvcrwwrw has been dispatched from the IRCC Office, to the Canada Visa Application Centre in Abuja CVO.

mcobex:
It actually depends on how busy they are. Lagos centre has more work load/applications compared to Abuja.
It usually takes between 3 to 5 working days to get your passport stamped, but it might take longer based on the number of applications being processed at the time.

Yes I think you are too fast. You might want to order your gcms note immediately to see the specific cause of the refusal so you can tackle it properly before reapplying. Your partner can order your gcms notes for you if they’re already in Canada. If they’re not you can order it via a third party from Nigeria.

From my own view, you are extra fast. In as much as the visa application process takes time, I believe you should not rush it. The first thing here is to apply for your GCMS note which will guide you on your reapplication process. The refusal mail is generic while the real reason for your refusal is found in your GCMS notes. That takes 30 - 35 days. What you can do during the time of waiting for your GCMS note is to start preparing your next document. Something must change in each of the bolded especially your travel history, family ties and purpose of your visit. Please calm down but be sure it will end in praise las las

Hi, sorry to hear about the delay on this application.

I went through your previous posts to try piece together a short profile but it is not clear whether you are a current study permit holder or working in Asia. Can you please provide a summary profile for the members so they can provide input. Generally, I think you should not rush in to put in another applicaytion without a GCMS notes. Looking forward to your response.

It is no longer easy to get a German visa from Nigeria. The wait time to get an appointment now can be as long as 1 year. Everything changed after 2019.

Some people don’t mind the Canadian tuition considering the long term benefit. If citizenship and permanent residence is the goal then the tuition is worth it.

For Canada you need to show 10,000 cad for upkeep for each year of your studies. For Germany, you need to have a blocked account with 10,332 euro to be able to apply for a visa. This money would be locked and will be sent to you in bits every month when you get to Germany (you won’t be able to take everything out at once except you’re exiting the country) You’ll spend less if Germany is the destination.

Ps: if you’re studying in the south of Germany, there is tuition to be paid. 1,500 euro per Semester.

Don’t just go for what is cheaper (especially if you have the money) think of the long term benefits. If you don’t have a lot, then Germany makes sense (if you can find your blocked account)

Cheers

Please I just need to clarify an issue. Since I was refused visa twice 2015 and 2016, do I need to request for my GCMS notes for 2015 and 2016 application? Or should I only request for my GCMS notes for the application I did 2016?

And please what information do I need to provide when making the request?

Thanks you advance for the response.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Chocs(f): 3:32pm On Jan 11, 2021
efedhomav

You should order for both refusals.

Are you ordering it via a third party (ordering it yourself from Nigeria)? If yes, you’ll need:

-Your date of birth and full name as it appears on your immigration application

- Full name and date of birth of your spouse or common-law partner (if you have a spouse or common-law partner included in your application)

- Visa file number / UCI number

- Card for payment fo the fees (about 20 cad)

- Signed Consent Form giving IRCC the permission to release your info to the third party.

I saw your question about agents previously. You can order it yourself without any agent. Google “gcms notes sites” and choose any one you feel most comfortable with and follow the instructions.

If you have someone in Canada (PR, citizen, temporary resident) to order it for you, then the process is slightly different.

Cheers
