1Sharon: My understanding is that some left Nigeria for Gabon so long ago that those should really be Gabonese of Nigerian origin but not yet "Natives". Those Igbo’s that left Nigeria recently for Gabon, South Africa and elsewhere are Nigerians. I was born in the Uk but I consider myself Nigerian and my brothers Children born in the Uk (second generation) we consider British people of Nigerian origin. After several hundred years, a people ought to possibly be considered full natives. For instance, present English peoples’ ancestors came from France, Germany, and Norway etc. They are now native Englishmen after establsihin linage in England after a tosusand years. Fulani’s with linage in Nigeria are possibly Natives Nigerians since they have been in Nigeria for over two hundred years, but I’m not sure 1 Like |

1Sharon: You are truly versed in your history. I am more than impressed. Their origin even transcends the Futa Djallon. They are an extreme mongrel race with roots that tie to the Berbers of Egypt and a slight mix of Jordan and a few Middle East countries. They also form a core of the Abbala people who were native of Sahel countries : Sudan and Chad. To a very large extent they then interbred with the Baggara people around Lake Chad environs. They make a significant part of those who fought the Darfur War (from where the term Janjawid became popular). They are omnipresent across the Sahel and have many times moved back and forth from West Africa back to East Africa. And yes you are correct: they actually conquered Fula Toro and Futa Djallon (NE Senegal) around the 15th Century. 4 Likes 1 Share |

tsdarkside: I really can't say what your problem is, but it's obvious you're not mentally okay. I ask you again, what has this report got to do with Igbos or IPOB? If you're normal, you should have used those mentioned in the article i.e. Yorubas to give your illustration but you did not only to start mentioning Igbos, can't you see you're not normal. Shame on you! 7 Likes |

ezenwajosh: So in 2021 youre still listening and quoting Nnamdi Kanu? Also, i hope you know its Igbos that migrate the most? Fulani cattle rearers are nomadic people looking for grazing for their cattle. Stop making this ethnic and pointing fingers. We have a security breakdown in Nigeria, there are criminal elements and crimes all over Nigeria. There are so many igbos supplying arms to boko haram members, you have ritual killers in south west and murders in south south and fake drug manufacturers and baby factory folks in the east as well as kidnappers, insurgency and killers in the North. It is all over, lets blame the govt and look for solution. Its not about pointing fingers. |

If they are Nigerians, going about their business, they should be let go. Do they have nin id, if yes, let them go to their intended destination. But if their cars were packed with arms, then the culprits should face the consequences. |

Miracle1991: Another unfortunate one on the loose. If they haven't mentioned IPOB or Igbos in their misery they won't be satisfied. This obsession on Igbos all of you are exhibiting shows how primitive minded and senseless some people can be. Has any Igbo man or even IPOB gone to any region outside Igboland to kill anyone or cause destruction? The answer is a capital NO! Yet unfortunate people in their misery keep mentioning Igbos and IPOB as if they're the cause of their misfortune. SMH. 2 Likes |

It's a very dangerous precedence being set right there. if they are Nigerians, then it's unconstitutional to stop them from moving from one point to another. If the rationale behind stopping them is solely based on the rack that they are Fulani. Then it's totally wrong. We are getting carried away by the insecurity in the country and stripping aways people's rights to move freely. |

I don’t see what is wrong here, are they bearing arms? If not why harass them with all these emotional media tantrums. We know that the Hausa/Fulanis move from place to place and that is their lifestyle. If they do this against my fellow Igbos or Yorubas it will be marginalization. Let us learn tolerance and to live with one another |

Litmus:Fulanis are being demonized currently in Nigeria and rightfully so. Question you show ask is why so? After all, they have been in our community for years with no problem. I think the issue is having an ethnic bigot with a Fulani agender. A Fulani master plan. One has to wonder the sudden brazing boldness of these folks. It shows there is powerful backing some where. The opening of our boarders to fulanis from all of Africa. Both those involved with wars all the way from Mali etc with their arms is noteworthy. They are encouraged to seize land and occupy it violently. So many top officials have said there is no Nigerian boarder when the Fulanis hearders are concerned. A sitting lady rep member said in parliament that the fulani value cows more than human life! The worst part is that those from abroad have seen that Nigeria is a place you can kidnap and make fantastic money and so cattle hearding is no longer profitable. They go back to their countries if origin desplaying fabulous wealth made from kidnapping and so entice more to come and work out money in the Eldorado called the southern Nigeria. With all the stories of violence will you wish a truck load of these folks to land in your community where your family resides? 6 Likes 1 Share |

Litmus: Yes those Igbos are Nigerians. I'm aware of the Saxon, jutes and what not. Those tribes emigrated to England and interbred and intermingled with the locals and created progeny's. I stand to be corrected but if an English person took a DNA test it would lead to those countries outside the UK and even back to the UK. So I don't really believe you can compare those European tribes to Fulani who remained clannish and subverted every society they've been in causing to stick out like a sore thumb. You do know Fulanis are of unknow origin? 1 Like |
