EgunMogaji2: Baba, under this government and Coro inclusive, people are just staying afloat and no one want to take risk. I just spoke with the Customs officer handling the container where all my house's DBs, switches and lights are kept. He said the Shipping companies are asking for N5,000,000 each in order to release the containers before they can truck them out of Apapa to destination of Pick up. My agent is asking me to plead with all those who's goods are trapped that we should support him in order to clear our goods. This support is in adding to what we already paid him for clearing oo. At the end of the day, why didn't I buy these things in Nigeria? I felt for a man who's goods is also trapped along mine. He said since March, 2020 he has been on it with the Agent. He has lost almost everything. Some people they have doors, some furniture in same container. My own items are still small naa. I feel for those business men among us I am just tired of this country. My tiles issue with that chap is still there unresolved since December. The guy's claiming he;s not back in Lagos yet and he wants to bury his father, so i should wait till end of January, 2021 You just gets frustrated in this Nigeria and feel like just relocating |

To maintain those equipment, you need cool-headed guys who are not money-conscious. _____ He’s not Lagos-based. You may just need to show him how to get to basic spare part market (Jakande will be more like it). Just few pennies and your machines (no matter the qty ) will be working like new. |

spyder880: Bricks are still an economical alternative, especially with the way cement price have gone haywire. A good architect can come up with a great design which combines conventional hollow blocks and bricks. For the dirtied bricks in that fence, all that is needed is water and strong brush to clean off the mess. Bricks are cheaper to maintain in the long run. 1 Like |

Read this, put yourself in the position of the clearing agent, importer, businessman and our own David waiting for his tiler until after January 2021. Nero2424: You will definitely use regular blocks at the foundation level(substructure stage). At your DPC level you will introduce a beam( plinth beam) which is where you start to lay the interlock brick blocks. As a measure to cut cost you can mark out the areas where you want the bricks to be. It can be bricks eternally only and regular blocks internal. Remember this bricks are maintained by proper polishing from time to time so it maintains its colourful nature. |

EgunMogaji2: The pictures posted are not bricks and should not be confused with USA/British bricks as we know it. These are Compressed Stabilised Blocks (CSEB). Burnt (kiln) bricks as obtain and prevalent in the USA/Britain are a different proposition. These can bring class to a building. Compressed Stabilised Earth Blocks (CSEB) are laterite stabilised with 10% cement and compressed by machine into blocks. I have done research on this about four years ago with a view to building (donating) two blocks of classroom to my secondary school. My findings then revealed CSEB are not cheaper as you need all the elements of normal Sandcrete blocks and more. So you still need your normal foundation with Sandcrete blocks (CSEB don't like water longterm), you would need rebar (for some design), columns and beams even for bungalows. You would also need to plaster the internal walls and paint as normal to achieve clean straight lines internally. As CSEB are smaller than Sandcrete blocks, you would need more CSEB for same size building as you would with normal blocks. The problems are bricklayers normally charge near the same or even more per CSEB and because you need more CSEB, your labour cost to lay the CSEB is higher. The cost saving is that you do not need to render the external walls and paint but this cost saving is offset by the need to use rebar for some design and introducing columns and beams here and there. You can ONLY save if you have a mountain of free laterite on your site, so you don't need to buy laterite and you are doing it FULL DIY, no labour cost and you cut corners by limiting the use of rebar, beams and columns. 3 Likes

dam4sam:So it is your expert opinion that wireless network is more secure than wired network. Can you back up such assertion with an authoritative source? The following is a source from a cyber security company in UK https://aberdeencybersecurity.co.uk/wired-vs-wireless-networking/ The following is another source from a home security company https://www.safewise.com/home-security-faq/wired-vs-wireless-security/ They both asserted that wired network is more secure than wireless network . I choose these two because they are people working in the field as opposed to university research papers |
