In addition to what you've successfully done already, u may also need to check the flow of exhaust through the silencers. Most of the times, a blocked catalyst or constricted exhaust pipes could lead to poor engine perfomance due to obstructed flow of exhaust gas.

Hi. I drive a corolla 03. Its running smoothly but the issue I have is that it makes this loud, rumbling sound when I'm doing say 50 km/h and above. My mechanic said it was the shocks. I changed all 4 yet the noise persists. I don't know if its and engine problem but the engine runs smoothly when I start the car and no issues while driving at high speeds. The sound is like a high rumbling sound. It disappears when I decelerate and comes back when I'm doing those high speeds again. Any ideas how I can go about this pls?

My car is Honda Accord 2000, automatic drive.
The issue of the car is the car jerk when returning from gear two to gear one after acceleration. Have already changed the gear oil, but still the same issue .

Re: Mention Any Car Issues You Are Currently Experiencing And We'll Help You Solve I by Sharmeenator(m): 12:55am On Jan 21, 2021
My car is a 2003 Honda Civic, 4 plugs automatic.

Bought it as Naija used close to 3 years ago without major issues except the AC. I was told the AC system had virus which I fixed last year. I had to change almost all the AC systems except the inner dashboard condenser and a vacuum device to take the power off the engine was in it installed. I had series of ON and OFF issues with the AC from leaking condenser, to not cooling well, to car shaking when the AC is working which have all been put under checks.

3 days back, I went out for an appointment with my car with the AC ON, very little traffic and we got to there with no issue. While returning after about an hour stay, I ran into a heavy traffic. Just shortly into the traffic, my car became sluggish. If I slow down, I will need to press hard on the throttle to move. I turned off the AC immediately I noticed it. This went up till we left the traffic. At times it got so worse that I would have to press real hard on the accelerator before the car would move. It was the same symptoms I had last year September/October when the transmission failed. I was scared shit but decided to manage the car to my mechanic place which wasn't far.

It moved better if I didn't hit the brake. I got to a point, I decide to restart the engine. I turned it off and turn it back ON (without the AC of course) within seconds and all was Ok, it was as if nothing just happened. Got to the mechanic place with the car moving fine and explained all to him. He was equally surprised and dumbfounded. My regret was not driving it there in that condition as earlier planned. He checked the car and ruled out transmission issue as the gear was changing fine. We had to put on the AC and it worked well without issue for minutes if not an hour. He checked the fuel pump and filter for clog and found no issue.

We don't know exactly what went wrong and that wasn't the first time nor the second time. All happened when the AC was working and if I turn off the AC, car would go back to normal, except on that fateful day. We had thought it was because of the bad Alternator then which was later replaced. I really don't know what to do or call it now. I will appreciate any help and advise.

Greetings family here.

I have a TOYOTA AVENSIS 1998 MANUAL SEDAN that runs on 1ZZ engine.
Engine went low and I decided to carryout overhaul. After spending so much, suddenly the FUEL PUMP started failing.
No matter the fuel pump installed, it cannot drive 3kms without jerking and then that's it. The fuel pump dies.
I am really frustrated now and need help. Could it it electrical ? Electricians have tried to fix the problem to no avail.
Please what do I do next ?

Good day everyone!

I have a 2006 Hyundai Sonata V6 petrol engine and auto tranny. It died at a traffic light without prior notice and refused to start. Ignition will turn and when it starts, it will jerk a little and slowly die off.

Battery is good, it is almost half tank full and no engine malfunction light is on. I recently changed the fuel pump and top cylinder gasket about 2months before the incident. Any recommendations on what to do?

Some of you guys whose cars don't have check engine light on might have had it taken off by whoever sold the car to you.

Quick check, turn your key to position 1 (i.e. one step) you should see the check engine light appear for about 2 seconds, then disappear. If you don't see the check engine light... the bulb has been removed or covered.

Recently I noticed that whenever I switch off (it’s a push to start) the engine goes off but the electronics stay on like the radio and the dash board lights and headlights. It doesn’t do this before this just started 2 days ago. What could be the issue?

I don't have a car, so this is not a car problem but an observation and part curiosity.

Do some car wheels move backwards when driving forward? Like do they rotate in the anticlockwise direction when a car is moving forward?

The check engine light is there and functioning very well,It comes on once the ignition is on and disappears once the engine is started. it has triggered in some many occasions, when my fuel tank cover was not well tightened, even when my air filter was dirty.

That's typical of FUEL PUMP FAILURE. It has dealt with me so much that I know when it's fuel pump.

Check engine light comes on when ignition is turned on and goes off when engine is running. There is no malfunction lights on...it does not bring up any fault code when i scan it.

Hmm...those were my first thoughts too so i bought a new fuel pump and in the process of installing the new pump, i discovered the old pump was working fine.

I suspect the air intake system but have not been able to do a compression test. Not sure though and have little time in a day to do a reasonable diagnosis...but can make out time to carry out a repair myself so long as it is fruitful. That's why i am here for assistance.
