seunpinky: Right to notice may be waived by either party and payment in lieu of notice is acceptable. It is calculated by taking basic salary into an account and excluding overtime and other allowances. 6 Likes |

Thanks for your input, we can't afford at this point to make payment in lieu of the notice period. Payment in lieu would set us back by almost 1.5million. prettysussie: |

Since you just got PPR, is it not possible for you to wait out the 3 months so that she can give her notice right now? Given that it might take at least a month to get your passport back. Regardless, In response to the questions 1. I haven’t heard of it being compulsory for everyone to land together. Normally the PA can land first and others follow. The only rule is that the secondary applicants can’t land before the PA (except IRCC just changed rules which I doubt) 2. It’s possible to give payment in lieu of notice period. You can probably do your + and -. Maybe give 1 month notice then make payment for 2 months. With leave days and all, it might be almost the same thing as paying for flights twice and the hassle of soft landing. With the way things are slow now, if she softlands she might end up spending more than 3 months in Nigeria because processing of PR cards rn is so slow and they’ll need that to come back (Or PRTD which is even worse now wrt processing) seunpinky: 8 Likes |

seunpinky:Let her drop the resignation letter now. Wait out the 3 months together. Carefully plan your departure within the period. Seriously, there is no need to rush, except you already have a job offer in canada. You even get to save more money. All the best. 6 Likes |

seunpinky: Option 1 is okay and legal (as PA you can land first) but 3 months is not really enough for you to have settled sufficiently to 'make adequate provisions' for your family. Option 2 doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I agree with others that option 3 is the best. Stay in Nigeria for another 3 months then land together as a family. 4 Likes |

seunpinky: You can land first and then she and the kids land in 3 months time. The PA can land before the dependants but not the dependants landing before the PA. They would have no issues. 2 Likes 1 Share |

sirabbey: Thank you. Frankly though, 120-140km/h is not that extraordinary. People overtake me all the time on the 401 while I'm driving at that speed. There is a popular saying (regarding the Swiss-Austrian-German Autobahn), it doesn't matter how fast you think you are going, someone else is going faster than you. As 19CannyMum rightly said below, as long as you keep the left lane free all is good. 19CannyMum: Exactly. Greatkhad: Sure, good luck. SlowlybtSurely: Thank you, sir/ma. |

seunpinky: As far as I know, Option One is the best as long as their COPR is still valid at the time your wife and child is landing. You do not need to be with them when they land. It would have been an issue if she was the primary applicant and you were landing first. However, in your situation; you are the primary applicant and you're landing first. 2 Likes |

joo2018: Good day all. Thanks to those who gave me the link for enquiry to migrate to Canada. I have found what is suitable for me. But there is a condition they said I need to fulfil which I do not understand. Please I need someone to make it clear to me I really some form of guidance here. Please help. I think i am better with the federal skilled trade program. And my current skill and experience revovles 95% around industrial electrician. NOC Job code 7242. But see this their statement below . I do not know whether I will have to get there (canada) first before I take the accessment. , ,, ********** Get assessed by the province or territory You’ll likely have to go to the province or territory to be assessed for your trade. You may also need an employer in Canada to give you experience and training. To learn more about getting assessed, you should go to the website of the body that governs trades for the province/territory where you would like to live and work. The process is different, depending on where you want to go |

Good day my dear seniors. Please pardon my question here. If spouse is the PA and because of covid her salary was slashed. This has been her salary for more than 6 months now and it's clear on her statement of account. My question is this. Which salary is it advisable for her to use? She feels the current salary is kinda small. Thanks and may God bless all of you in Canada. We are coming to join you guys soon God willing. |

I don’t think the amount of money stated as salary matters to IRCC as long as you have your POF. They just want to know that it was paid work. People have used only NYSC for experience and their pay was 19800. wale200: |

IRCC isn't concerned with how much you get paid. What they care about is that you do get paid, no matter how "small" it is wale200: |

I would appreciate if any PR holder with background in biological sciences(biochemistry, microbiology or zoology) who went back to school to read nursing can recommend any school where I can study accelerated post-bsc nursing Or if anyone can recommend anyone at all. I have like 20 schools but I can only apply to 3, I couldn't come up with any 3 to choose from. Any suggestion would be appreciated |

Option 1 You can land first as PA and they follow later, as long as their visas are still valid, while your spouse observes her 3 month notice period. 3 months notice is wicked sha, it is work na not kidnapping. seunpinky: 2 Likes |
