Steveraw:She told you? Without any actions? This shows she don’t want them to join her. She didn’t informed her husband over there about the kids. |

Steveraw: Boss Man, if your aunt really wanted her kids there with her, she knows what to do, and the process to follow. The process of filing for asylum which you say she filed for years ago is more tedious and difficult than filing to bring a dependent or immediate family members to Canada, US hell, even the UK... And I find it difficult to believe that if she really wanted them there, she doesn’t know the offices to call or how to go about it for someone who’s been there since the early 2000s. I’ve lived in 4 countries between 2007 till date & I know the process of filing for residency in each to the point where it’s the first thing I do everywhere I go; much less someone who’s been in the same country since the early 2000s. If she still feigns like she doesn’t know, it’s pretty simple, she should get an immigration lawyer and I promise you those kids will be there before Summer... However she better hurry cuz I believe there’s an AGE bar! 7 Likes 1 Share |

Steveraw: If it took her 19/20 years to aquire citizenship from Canada since the 2000's... then it speaks alot already. She may not have the right social standing to file in for her sons who are already grownups. As much as there is the general hype for Canada these days, Canada is not an "anyhow" country, in otherwords "if you pay peanuts, you'll get monkeys". What if she declared earlier that she had no children during some earlier refugee paper work in the phase when she was desperate for asylum, do you fink all of a sudden if she brandished grown up men from the blues calling them her sons, it would sink in well.... the system has a way of tracing these things. (Many people have been hit by this reality and families were broken unfortunately). The best she can do is support the boys financially to perhaps pursue college education in Canada from Nigeria. But let's call a spade a spade, she must have lied during the asylum process and it has probably caught up, that's why she's literally helpless in bringing her sons over. Otherwise she could have done it since. 11 Likes |

Steveraw: Now you are talking, there is no way she can sponsor them because they are no longer dependants. The only viable option for her is to look for a job for them in canada so that their employer will sponsor their work permit, after working for one full year then they can process permanent residence... 1 Like |

Steveraw:She can only bring them if they are below 18 from what I can remember through the family reunification visa. Otherwise they have to apply through express entry. |

optimusprime2: I also thought about this as well; very possible she may have lied in her application about having kids hence why it’s complicated. As you advised it’s best to process school for them |
Re: My Canadian Aunty Is Finding It Hard To Migrate Her Sons by babakb: 2:38pm On Jan 14, 2021 |
Steveraw: Any kind of job will do as long as the employers will be willing to sponsor their work permit.... Although School route is cool too but she must have all the money required.... |

Steveraw: No, they will go through Canadian Experience Class, they won't need to exit Canada to process their PR after one year of working experience, no proof of funds required only IELTS, it's a gonna be a smooth ride for them only after they have worked legally for one year in Canada... |
